I thought I would post this here since I thought it would get more attention. I am sorry to report that the DVD box set has been pushed to early 2014. Hee is the response to the e-mail that I sent.

"Hi Frank - Honeymooners Blu-ray was pushed to early 2014. We are still finalizing the bonus feature content and will release the new street date as well bonus feature details in early December."

I wonder what is taking them so long. I know that Mpi has the rights to the color episodes but Mpi told me that they don't have the rights to the short color sketches. Maybe Paramount is spending $$$ in acquiring them and is going to put these as bonus features. Yes, I know that both series are completely different but other than other bonus features, why is the price for this set so high? I ain't going to be the farm though. I say chances are real, real good that the short color sketches ain't going to be a part of this set.

2014 isn't so bad, could be worse

This really only means it is taking longer to complete the mastering work than they expected. I am really interested in knowing what materials they are mastering with. I expect they have original 35mm source material, but given the age of it, it may have taken more restoration work than expected. To get an idea of what they have to go through, take a look at the remastering documentaries on CBS's blue rays of the original Star Trek series.

@Frank - who was this response from?
All sites are still saying 10/15.

BTW - was there ever an official press release?

It was a guy who works at Paramount. Here's the e-mail
PHE_CustomerService@Paramount.com. His name was Brian Sommer.

There was no official press release.

Here's hoping the bonuses will be worth getting.

I'm fine with any delays. As long as Paramount gets everything right!!
Surprised they're not waiting until 2015 for the Classic 39's 60th anniversary.

I don't think a delay is bad news (unless you planned to give it as a Christmas gift) and welcome it if it means a higher quality release. For the price this is going for there better be massive extras to make it worth while. I mean it's not like hard core fans do not have these episodes already.

Yeah, and for those of us that purchased these episodes on VHS, Laserdisc and DVD, this will be a "quadruple-dip." Though, if I'm not mistaken, none of the previous releases advertised a "wealth of special features," so if that's what the hold up is about it may be worth the cost.

Exactly. At this point the extras are the only things that would get me to make the purchase so for me they better be great features!

Having every episode remastered in the best possible quality is kind of a bonus in and of itself, if you ask me...but I agree, bring on the extras!
