View Full Version : Bewitched Coming to Antenna TV, Launches with Marathon and They Want Your Trivia
Bewitched is coming to Antenna TV later this fall and to help launch the sitcom, Antenna TV will present an all-day Bewitched "Witch-o-ween" Marathon on Wednesday, October 30, 2013! We'll have more information on that marathon very soon, along with the complete Antenna TV Fall 2013 schedule, but we wanted to let you know you can help Antenna TV during this marathon by giving cool Bewitched facts and trivia! If they are really good, your response could make it on-air during the Bewitched marathon on October 30 during promos! How magical! These facts and trivia can be anything about Bewitched or its actors, so feel free to post on our message board thread! You can also post on our Facebook thread. But before you send your bewitching trivia, after you type in your trivia, let us know your first name and the first initial of your last name along with your city, state (i.e. Jack T. from Santa Monica CA). And if your trivia gets mentioned on-air, who knows we might send you some goodies as a token of our appreciation!
The deadline to post trivia will be Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013 at 11:59pm ET, so hurry and post your trivia facts today. There isn't much time left, so get to it before Endora casts a spell on you for not submitting fast enough! And come on back for the Antenna TV Fall 2013 schedule that will be starting in November 2013 with the addition of Bewitched and a few other new additions, including I Dream of Jeannie! So for example, a trivia post would be something like this:
"The series had five Halloween episodes during its eight-season run. (Pavan P. from Linden, NJ)"
Sounds great! I'll go first:
During the episode "Samantha's Curious Cravings", Samantha's powers mistakenly take her to Shea Stadium in the middle of a baseball game where she finds a phone to call Darrin. To the left of the pay phone, there is a large wall covered with graffiti. On the wall, there is a drawing of a heart. Inside the heart, we see the phrase: "B.A. + E.M." This stands for Bill Asher (the show's director) + Elizabeth Montgomery (his wife).
---Sal I. from Oakville, ONT.
Wiseguy2 09-12-2013, 02:42 AM The series had four Christmas episodes during the series' run: two with Dick York and two with Dick Sargent.
--Eric W. from New Orleans, LA
Wiseguy2 09-12-2013, 02:47 AM Three actors portraying recurring characters guest-starred as a "mortal" in an early B&W episode: Bernard Fox (Dr. Bombay), Paul Lynde (Uncle Arthur) and Alice Ghostley (Esmerelda).
--Eric W. from New Orleans, LA
Wiseguy2 09-12-2013, 02:52 AM Not only did two actors portray Darrin Stephens but two actors guest-starred as his father, Frank Stephens, as well. Both actors who played Frank Stephens appeared with both actors portraying Darrin Stephens.
--Eric W. from New Orleans, LA
Wiseguy2 09-12-2013, 02:57 AM About halfway through the series, the spelling of Samantha and Darrin's daughter's name was changed from Tabatha to Tabitha.

MODERNLIVING 09-13-2013, 07:09 PM Madge Blake (from TV's Batman) plays "Mary" - in the 1st season Halloween episode "The Witches Are Out" - a rare witch whose name doesn't end with an "a".
Actress Reta Shaw played 1st season "Bertha" and later "Aunt Hagatha"
Samantha became Queen of The Witches for a 1-year term in season 4.
Samantha and Endora often vacation on Cloud 9.
Samantha's small broom closet by her kitchen door also becomes a laundry room or basement in other episodes.
Actress Jane Connell appeared as Queen Victoria (season 4) and High Priestess Hepzibah (season 7)
Dick York became ill and left the series in season 5 : which led to Samantha announcing her 2nd pregnancy over the phone to an absent Darrin.
Season 2's Halloween episode features Endora turning herself into a child played by Maureen McCormick (of the Brady Bunch).
Doctor Bombay examines witches with his Hexometer.
The Stephens home was host to other supernaturals including a Gremlin, Goblin, Elf, Leprechaun, Wood Nymph, and Mary the good Tooth Fairy.
Samantha has a Cousin Edgar who is an Elf (played by Arte Johnson) in season 1.
Uncle Arthur and Endora are brother and sister. Cousin Serena is related to Samantha's father's side.

OH Nuts! 09-14-2013, 11:31 AM It's a GREAT show and a wonderful opportunity to begin viewing the show if you get Antenna. I already have the first 5 seasons, which to me are the best; they have Dick York as Darrin and all the Aunt Clara eps. You're in for some fine and VERY ENTERTAINING viewing, mark the date!!!!
Wiseguy2 09-14-2013, 10:31 PM There are a total of 252 episodes of Bewitched. Some sources state 254 but that counts two reruns from the first season with only new introductions filmed.
--Eric W from New Orleans, LA
Wiseguy2 09-14-2013, 10:37 PM Out of 252 episodes, the first 72 were filmed in black & white. Stations and networks often skip these episodes in reruns even though some of the best episodes are in this group.
--Eric W. from New Orleans, LA
Wiseguy2 09-14-2013, 10:42 PM When Kasey Rogers took over the role of Louise Tate from Irene Vernon she wore a black wig to match Irene's hair. Later in the series she asked if she could stop wearing it, the producers agreed, and then her own red hair could be seen.

Eric W, stop being a Wiseguy and stop hogging the trivia and give other people a chance, or I'll get Endora to turn you into an artichoke! (Episode 4, "Mother Meet What's His Name")
