"Scandal" Exclusive: "Private Practice" Alum Paul Adelstein to Recur in Season 3

Paul Adelstein has booked a return trip to Shondaland, with a plum role on ABC’s "Scandal".

TVLine has learned exclusively that the "Private Practice" alum will recur during Season 3 of Shonda Rhimes’ buzzy D.C. drama in what is thus far (and of course) a secret role.



Regardless, hopefully Adelstein’s character — who will first surface in late October — fares better than that of real-life wife Liza Weil, who played White House intern Amanda Tanner during Season 1.

"Scandal" opens Season 3 on Thursday, Oct. 3.

"Private Practice" alum Paul Adelstein is slated to reprise his role as Leo Bergen in an upcoming episode of "Scandal", EW has learned.

He first appeared on the ABC drama in the third season as the ambitious and ethically questionable campaign consultant to Sally Langston (Kate Burton). He was last seen in the season finale, his hopes of acquiring Cyrus’ office dashed after Sally lost the election.

Adelstein is expected to appear in at least one episode in November.
