View Full Version : Anyone watching the Unexplained Files?
wiseguy182 09-07-2013, 02:48 AM This is a new series that just started airing on The Science Channel, which I believe is channel 193 on Dish Network. I just watched the first episode and it had 2 cases familiar to UM viewers: Frederich Valentich and the Chupacabras.
FWIW, they actually explored the angle that Valentich voluntarily disappeared. They noted a couple of oddities: that Valentich's flight was to retrieve some crayfish, however none was available that day and no order had been placed. He also didn't request landing lights which probably would have been prudent for an evening flight, which this was. I'm not sure I believe anything other than a UFO encounter, but there it is.
pjpiazza 09-10-2013, 02:09 AM I watched it a few times. I was happy to see this case hopefully introduced to a new audience. To this day I believe it was a UFO sighting. It's the most credible we have. I got a kick out of seeing Roy Manifold again. He photographed something unexplainable. If it was fake then Robey was in on it, right? My question is normally during sighting radios go haywire but not this time?
wiseguy182 09-10-2013, 03:13 AM Yeah, they even showed a clip from Unsolved Mysteries with the guy interviewed in silhouette. I can seem some parallels to UM.
wiseguy182 09-10-2013, 07:55 AM looks like they'll have a Mothman episode next week.
JannTosh 09-10-2013, 01:10 PM watched the preview of the episode of the Blood Red Rain. When they said that the rain "was alive" or something like that I immediately thought of the UM episode on the Oakville blobs. Also, in the Blood Rain episode they mentioned if the rain could be alien in nature. That is something I was totally expecting them to say in the UM episode on the blob, but they interestingly did not

Yeah, I'm looking forward to that. Hopefully they'll do a better job covering than Unsolved did. It's one of my favorite Unsolved Mysteries segments, but it was undercovered, and should have been used earlier in the show's run.
JannTosh 09-15-2013, 12:58 AM did anyone see the Cattle mutilations episode?

not yet, but I have it recorded. I think the Chupacabra one was something similar - it was savagely eating chickens or something.
wiseguy182 09-21-2013, 03:01 PM they have a spontaneous human combustion episode coming up.

wiseguy182 10-13-2013, 12:54 PM does anyone know if they're airing new episodes? The tv listings guides on the net say they are airing new episodes, but the episode descriptions are of previous episodes.
wiseguy182 05-31-2014, 12:37 PM We finally have some new info on this. There is a new episode airing tomorrow on another network, Discovery. (channel 182 for fellow Dish Network subscribers). It is an episode called "Yeti". Check local listings.
wiseguy182 07-12-2014, 12:53 AM Finally have some more info: Second season starts up July 29. Apparently the show is already renewed for a third season in 2015, so ratings must be good.
wiseguy182 10-10-2014, 10:32 AM They'll be doing a segment on Medjugorje this coming Tuesday. Interestingly, it sounds like it'll be devoted to the claims of people who say they've seen the sun do strange things there.
Cori aka ChrisSCrush 10-12-2014, 11:21 PM Yes, sometimes they get a little silly but overall I am loving it!
Correction: Sorry I said it was silly. I think I was thinking of Unsealed: Alien Files, a series with a similar title which I also watch.
