She went quickly downhill after a sudden illness in mid-August, and finally my parents took her to have her put to sleep. Even though I know she's no longer suffering, I still miss my baby. :crying:

View Full Version : My cat Molly (2002-2013) catlover79 09-02-2013, 09:48 AM She went quickly downhill after a sudden illness in mid-August, and finally my parents took her to have her put to sleep. Even though I know she's no longer suffering, I still miss my baby. :crying: Tweety 09-02-2013, 10:17 AM Always sad to lose a great pet. I love cats, grew up with three of them in the house. One was a grey tabby, another was a Calico. Molly looks like she had some of both in her. Penny Lane 09-02-2013, 10:18 AM Aw, so sorry for you Monika.:( Retro4Life 09-02-2013, 10:19 AM My condolences, Monika. It's so hard to lose our friends. Take comfort in the joy I'm sure Molly had in life. catlover79 09-02-2013, 10:41 AM Thank you so much. Things aren't the same without her. :( Regulus 09-02-2013, 11:46 AM :rip: Molly. Having your loved on cross the Rainbow Bridge is sad. :( You will never replace your pet, but you can get a new friend, whom you will learn to love.:bighug: 80sTrivia 09-02-2013, 11:58 AM So sorry for your loss, Monika. My sister just lost her cat of fourteen years and she is devastated, so I know how difficult it is. Thoughts and prayers go out to you... HuntingtonM15 09-02-2013, 01:43 PM I'm very sorry to hear this sad news, Monika. :rip: Molly Janice 09-02-2013, 03:43 PM So sorry for Molly's loss. I know it hurts. Take solace in knowing that you gave Molly a wonderful life, however cut short. Your family did the right thing in taking her pain away. No living thing should have to suffer. This poem and video helped me when I was mourning my cat. Rainbow Bridge http://www.indigo.org/rainbowbridge_ver2.html (http://www.indigo.org/rainbowbridge_ver2.html) MAY I GO May I go now? Do you think the time is right? May I say goodbye to pain filled days and endless lonely nights? I've lived my life and done my best, an example tried to be. So can I take that step beyond and set my spirit free? I didn't want to go at first, I fought with all my might. But something seems to draw me now to a warm and loving light. I want to go. I really do. It's difficult to stay. But I will try as best I can to live just one more day. To give you time to care for me and share your love and fears. I know you're sad and afraid, because I see your tears. I'll not be far, I promise that, and hope you'll always know that my spirit will be close to you wherever you may go. Thank you so for loving me. You know I love you, too. That's why it's hard to say goodbye and end this life with you. So hold me now just one more time and let me hear you say, because you care so much for me, you'll let me go today. robyrob 09-02-2013, 03:53 PM aw man, I'm sorry :( :rip: Molly retrofan05 09-02-2013, 04:01 PM I'm so sorry for your loss. I have lost two cats and its never easy. They truly are one of the family. Just know that Molly is no longer suffering and that you provided her with a loving and happy home as did she for you. :) catlover79 09-02-2013, 04:10 PM Thanks again, everyone. My dad asked me if I wanted to see her one more time before she was buried, and I declined. I'd rather remember her as the member of the family who had not a mean bone in her body, the appetite of a horse and a purr you could hear across the room. She was just the sweetest cat and will always be loved. :bighug: Mr. Television 09-02-2013, 04:47 PM I'm so sorry Monika. I know how it is to lose a beloved pet. Molly looks just a little like my cat Cuddles did. So sorry for Molly's loss. I know it hurts. Take solace in knowing that you gave Molly a wonderful life, however cut short. I know how it is to lose a beloved pet. They're like a member of the family. :(they sure are ponytail 09-03-2013, 05:28 AM Sorry to hear about Molly's passing. My cat was 19 when we had to put her down. It's tough. But she was not in good health. I know she is up there playing and pestering her doggie brothers. shotzette 09-03-2013, 09:02 AM I'm so sorry for your loss. In my opinion, the only downside to letting an animal into your heart is the fact that their lifespans are so much shorter than ours. Thank you for giving Molly a loving home and cherishing her the way you did. icecream 09-03-2013, 11:42 AM :( :kitties: :bighug: Zoneboy 09-03-2013, 02:35 PM Sorry to hear this, always sad when we lose one of our pets. :( catlover79 09-03-2013, 06:20 PM Thanks, everyone. We had Molly since she was 7 weeks old, so to lose her was and is devastating. I miss my baby girl. :( OH Nuts! 09-04-2013, 01:41 AM Oh Monika, so sorry to hear about the loss of your sweet kitty Molly. I know how it feels; I remember how much I missed my big guy Satchmo. But he had cancer and when he stopped using his litter box and his kidneys began to fail it was time to let go. sara 09-04-2013, 02:28 AM :( I'm so sorry for your loss Monika. :bighug: catlover79 09-04-2013, 11:04 AM Thanks again, friends. ABlairican Pie 09-04-2013, 10:54 PM Thank you, Greg. :welcome: Was she old? Sick? It's got to be very tough, and you'll miss her. But I'll be praying for you. catlover79 09-13-2013, 12:48 PM She was 11 years old, but up until the last month of her life was as healthy and energetic as could be. Then she got this sinus issue which they tried clearing up with medicine, but to no avail. She lost all her energy, could barely walk two steps without tripping, and wouldn't eat, drink or groom herself. Totally unlike her. The vet suspected it was a form of cancer, but they didn't know what it was exactly because my folks made the decision to put her down rather than cut her open. It wouldn't have bought her much, if any, more time at all. The last day of her life, she was vomiting up blood. She was miserable. The only comfort I have is that she is now pain-free, but it doesn't stop any of us from missing her. :( |
