She went quickly downhill after a sudden illness in mid-August, and finally my parents took her to have her put to sleep. Even though I know she's no longer suffering, I still miss my baby. :crying:

Always sad to lose a great pet. I love cats, grew up with three of them in the house. One was a grey tabby, another was a Calico. Molly looks like she had some of both in her.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I have lost two cats and its never easy. They truly are one of the family. Just know that Molly is no longer suffering and that you provided her with a loving and happy home as did she for you. :)

Thanks again, everyone. My dad asked me if I wanted to see her one more time before she was buried, and I declined. I'd rather remember her as the member of the family who had not a mean bone in her body, the appetite of a horse and a purr you could hear across the room. She was just the sweetest cat and will always be loved. :bighug:

i am so very sorry for your loss monika i lost my tuxedo cat simbe a few years ago so i kmow how much it hurts to lose a pet:(

Sorry to hear about Molly's passing. My cat was 19 when we had to put her down. It's tough. But she was not in good health. I know she is up there playing and pestering her doggie brothers.

I'm so sorry for your loss. In my opinion, the only downside to letting an animal into your heart is the fact that their lifespans are so much shorter than ours. Thank you for giving Molly a loving home and cherishing her the way you did.

Oh Monika, so sorry to hear about the loss of your sweet kitty Molly. I know how it feels; I remember how much I missed my big guy Satchmo. But he had cancer and when he stopped using his litter box and his kidneys began to fail it was time to let go.

Was she old? Sick? It's got to be very tough, and you'll miss her. But I'll be praying for you.

She was 11 years old, but up until the last month of her life was as healthy and energetic as could be. Then she got this sinus issue which they tried clearing up with medicine, but to no avail. She lost all her energy, could barely walk two steps without tripping, and wouldn't eat, drink or groom herself. Totally unlike her. The vet suspected it was a form of cancer, but they didn't know what it was exactly because my folks made the decision to put her down rather than cut her open. It wouldn't have bought her much, if any, more time at all. The last day of her life, she was vomiting up blood. She was miserable. The only comfort I have is that she is now pain-free, but it doesn't stop any of us from missing her. :(
