One thing that's cool about the older cases on UM is that there have been so many interesting updates in the years since they aired or happened. I am wondering, though, if there are unsolved cases that really haven't had any significant updates at all since their airing on UM?

Angela Hammond is the first one that comes to mind.

How about that NC hit-and-run case? I don't think a single thing, very unfortunately, has come out of that one.

Rogest Cain also comes to mind, despite the Topeka, KS sighting update.

DB Cooper.

The only real evidence found was the sign in 1978, and the money in 1980. Both were reported on the show. No new hard evidence about DB Cooper has been found since.

Gary Simmons. Murdered by Don Dixon in 1974. His remains were found in 1991. No updates since then to my knowledge. Dixon would be in his 80's today if he were still alive.

Kathy Hobbs. Has there ever been a suspect in that case?

Dana Point Jane Doe and "Jason" Doe have had no significant updates. Little Miss Panasofkee however has now been suspected of being a recent Greek emigrant, and there are a few women that are being checked out as being a possible match to LMP.

At least some of the other unsolved cases here still get attention through anniversary articles and what-not. However, I just hate it when some of UM's most memorable cases have virtually no information available, such as...

Aileen Conway. One of the most discussed cases around here, yet after 26 years, there's no updates or any other information about it anywhere. A simple Google search turns up NOTHING, not even a news article.

It's also disappointing just how little information there is out there about the Dale Kerstetter case. Dale's not even listed on any of the major missing persons sites, like the Doe Network or Charley Project.

Christophe Day, I remember his sister posted here that she and her father were going to France to double check things, and haven't heard since.

the crash at gander.

Nyleen Kay Marshall and her mother's subsequent murder(cause I'm sorry, there is no way that woman killed her self)

Wow, there's more than I thought! In my opinion, the lack of updates just goes to further the "eerie" element of these true mysteries even more....

Salvatore Caruana - mob connected drug dealer who made use of BBS's to communicate. That aspect of the case interested me so I remembered it.

I checked - he is no longer wanted for the drug trafficking charges, but is still wanted for jumping bail and tax evasion:

(btw, the 1939 birth date is probably the most accurate one, going by the 1940 census):

Dale Kerstetter is one that has had no apparent leads over the years. Absolutely nothing online about the case.

Tim Molnar: I don't think there's ever been any information as to why his remains were found frozen in ice in Wisconsin in 1986 after driving off and disappearing from Florida in early 1984.

Also, I still haven't found any prudent information as to whether or not there really is a ghost at Lake Wales that sexually awakens some people.

That entire case freaks me out. Not only did he just take off for no apparent reason, but he ultimately ends up in a state he had no known connection to while leaving his car in yet another totally different place. And he went unidentified for a decade!

I remember his family (or younger brother at least) seemed to think that he was depressed or something else was going on internally with him (maybe he felt trapped in an identity, if that makes any sense, and wanted to take off and "start a new life") but like you stated, it doesn't explain how he ended up where he did and why there seems to be very little to no information on sightings of him from Florida in the days he left up until his remains were found two years later.

There has to be some people that remember seeing him in his travels, even if they weren't the responsible parties in his ending up dead.

Todd Mcafee did have a significant update, but no closure. The lady who was accused of the murder got off because the star witness refused to testify against her. As of 2012, law enforcement still considers the case open and unresolved.

Me too! I've always been drawn to unexplained murders and unexplained disappearances because of the unsettling feeling they give me, and this one kind of takes the cake as it involves both an unexplained disappearance and a subsequent unexplained death.

I've never seen the Molnar segment. It's probably my Holy Grail in terms of rare segments I would love to see.

It is one of my favorite segments, but I have to say you're not missing too much since it's very short. We see a shot of Tim driving off, his parents asking about him at a gas station, and then a couple family members saying they hope he'll come back after eleven years. It's very tragic because it seems they firmly believed he was alive and well and had just gone off to a new life. He also had an inheritance waiting for him on his return. In an update, RS talks about how a man saw the broadcast and recognized the clothes Tim had been wearing as those found on a body he'd discovered years earlier.

It's kind of a bummer to say, but a few months ago I would have been able to PM a link to you to check it out!

This case also really puzzles me. Was Tim's car ever found? Did he decide to go to Wisconsin and then die of exposure? Did he meet with foul play?

I don't believe there has ever been a significant update on anything to do with the deaths of Scott Johnson and his unnamed friend in the shack.

Because of police bungling, I don't think it will ever be solved.

Was LMP the girl who was found in the water? who had an injury on her ankle that was significant in her identification?

I think he must have had a mental breakdown of some sort.
Or maybe he was being chased by some one with road rage who managed to pull him over and he got out the car ran into the cold wilderness and became lost. Either way the mind just boggled on this case

Yes, I believe there had been a surgical procedure done on her ankle.it has a name that I can't recall.

It is strange that no family members or friends can identify her from this procedure.
You would think that she would have had care from either while she was recovering. The only other solution was maybe she had it abroad and that's why no one in USA can identify her.
Greek immigrant seems a probably answer so surely with technology now they could contact Greek hospitals in hope of IDing this poor girl.

I often think of this when I read UM cases that they should certainly be solved by now with the advanced in technology over the years
