View Full Version : The Cosby Show or Good Times??
TVFactFan 08-31-2013, 12:43 PM I figured I would ask because there are cable stations who are having a marathon of both shows at the same time today and wanted to ask which would you look at first??
I chose the Cosby Show because it has more FUN episodes.
LUNCH 08-31-2013, 12:54 PM Good Times. It's a much better show in my opinion, although when John Amos left the show it went downhill. I have nothing against Bill Cosby but any of the Norman Lear shows are much better than the Cosby show, especially shows like All In The family and Maude.

I just think the show was more funny and entertaining when he was on it.The later episodes are still OK though.

Would you take the Cosby Show over the Penny Era of Good Times
Retro4Life 08-31-2013, 01:49 PM No contest. I would watch the WORST Good Times episodes before the BEST Cosby show eps...never thought that show was funny at all.
Brieannas21 08-31-2013, 02:19 PM Cosby Show. I'm gonna sit here do some work and enjoy my marathon.

Unfortunately Comcast is number 1
My only option is to upgrade

It's on the digital starter package which is what I have. I downgraded too when I went back to Comcast. I have that and the sports package.

Comcast is number1? Are you saying that it's cheaper? You don't have Directv or Dish in your area? At&T?
TVFactFan 08-31-2013, 08:54 PM Comcast is number1? Are you saying that it's cheaper? You don't have Directv or Dish in your area? At&T?
Comcast is better because it has Antenna TV and the other digital channels. Dish or Directv don't

It probably is but they don't show anything I want to see anyway so it's best I don't have it LOL
The cable channels I watched the most when I had TV Land was
N@N
TV One
Centric
TBS
And I still have those channels so I;m good LOL
comedyfreak 09-02-2013, 02:30 AM I pick Good Times over The Cosby Show. I have every season of Good Times, my family and I watched every week including the summer time.
tvfreak1987 09-02-2013, 02:36 AM Cosby Show for me.
Tubehead 09-02-2013, 05:06 AM i can watch good times i never could stand cobsy show i didn't like it he make all these weird faces in front of little kids i just couldn't get into the cobsy show Sanford and son beast good times and cobsy show
Crusinforabrusin 02-14-2017, 02:43 AM The Cosby Show. It was more enjoyable to watch. Good times , just like a lot of other 70s show , seemed less fun and more about shock value
There is no comparison. Cosby Show all the way!
I can get TV Land on KODI. I might watch an episode or two later on today.
lakesgirl 02-14-2017, 01:04 PM 10 years ago I would have said The Cosby Show all the way. Now, because of Bill Cosby, I have to say Good Times. Sad.
Yong Fang 02-19-2017, 03:25 PM When I was at my parent's house, there is a cable network called "ONE" which was geared to African Americans, which showed Good Times (and also Sanford and Son!!). Good Times was a great show before John Amos was fired and Esther Rolle temporarily quit the show. After that, the show really declined.
Interestingly, not on ONE, but another minor channel showed The Cosby Show. I couldn't believe anyone would show it, but someone did. A lot of black activists did not like The Cosby Show because ironically it showed a successful black family. I didn't watch it because I do not want to watch anything with Bill Cosby in it again. He is a rapist (by the sheer number of women coming forward telling the same story and the indictment) and an a..hole. No thanks.
