Aborted Arc: Season 10 built up an Unresolved Sexual Tension between Frasier and Roz that culminated with Roz leaving the station due to jealously towards Julia. When Season 11 rolled around an A-team of Frasier writers (Joe Keenan, Chris Lloyd, Rob Greenberg) returned, declared season 10 a misfire, and undid all the damage in two episodes. http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Series/Frasier?from=Main.Frasier

I disagree season 10 was great, season 11 was a way worse, I loved the idea of Roz and Frasier and found a lot of the changes in season 11 forced and unnecessary

I would have liked to see Frasier and Roz get together as well. :) Too bad it didn't end up that way.

I read something similar where they noted the way season 10 ended that needed repair. But it was only that they removed Roz from the show.

I thought season 11 was the worst of the entire series. That's just my opinion, of course-- I just didn't really like a single episode in it, only parts of episodes (usually those revolving around Niles and Daphne) and to this day there's a bunch of season 11 episodes that I won't even watch, I dislike them so much (The Ann Who Came to Dinner, Miss Right Now, Detour, to name but three). Season Ten was better to me, but only in the same way that the freefall is better than the crash and burn. I always felt the series began a slow downhill slide somewhere around season 8 or 9 until it finally landed in the pit with season 11.

Just a sidenote on ratner43's link-- I find it interesting that Jane Leeves claims that Daphne knew all along that Niles was in love with her. I'd never heard that before, but I like it because the one thing that always bothered me was that Niles's affection was so blatant at times that I could never understand (and found it rather unbelievable) that she could not know. I like it better thinking that she did know, and "Back Talk" was really more of a confirmation-- and a realization-- after 7 years, of just how deep his feelings for her were. When you watch the series with the assumption that she knows, it puts a whole 'nother spin on Daphne's words and actions toward Niles throughout the entire series (it makes her thoughtful and smart about it instead of obtuse and oblivious), and I like it better that way. :)

Frasier and Roz have great chemistry as coworkers and friends. But I would not want them as a couple at all, they're totally wrong for each other. My first choice would be for Frasier to remain with Lilith but Bebe Neuwirth didn't want to commit to the spin-off. If not her he should have remained with Claire, stupid Lana.
