I think most of the tv channels have gone down hill. When they change what they were set up for, they JTS.

Just about every network has gone downhill, but the ones that stick out to me the most are the following:

USA Network
Game Show Network
Nickelodeon
VH1
MTV
Disney Channel
Cinemax
HBO
Showtime
The Movie Channel

TLC

No one can learn anymore from The Learning Channel, they might as well call it TSC...The Stupidity Channel since it makes people dumber now!

MTV... at one point in history they showed music videos! not just pregnant 16 year olds and white trash shows.

I agree with many of ya

also, Cartoon Network w/o question has went downhill, not to mention, VH1 has gotten terrible thanks to Celebreality nonsense, thank GOD VH1 Classic and VH1 Soul though

also, TBS has gone from a TRUE SuperStation to a rip-off Comedy Central

USA Network may be the top rated network, but to me, they show way too much Law & Order Marathon and other nonsense

TNT, IMO isn't like what it use to be, even though I do like Falling Skies and the NBA

Mainly all the networks have gone downhill. These are the ones I used to watch most, way back when:

NBC
The CW
ABC
MTV
TBS
Nick at Nite

I agree about Nickelodean. That station is awful now. I admit I do watch Friends on it occasionally, but not intentionally.

I actually like the Disney Channel more than I used to although I do wish they would show more shows that feature the theme parks and so forth.

I like AMC now but I still miss the days when they showed uncut old movies.

Nickelodeon doesn't have anything good to watch anymore.

Might as well add BET and MTV2 to the list. Really, about every cable network that has been around long enough has gone downhill.

Usually the ones I watch do something to redeem themselves. For example, I was really tired of THIS-TV (especially the way they load up on commericials) -- and then all of a sudden they decide to show a couple of Peter Sellers movies I'd never seen. Worth checking out, and it's good that their stuff tends to come around again.

Disney Channel has really went downhill. I remember getting a Disney Channel magazine in the mail, like a TV Guide. It was all about what was on Disney. It told when shows were on, the episodes, etc. They actually used to play good old Disney movies and animated movies.

The only TV network that hasn't gone downhill is Turner Classic Movies. If anything, it's gotten better over the years, as it has licensed more material from other studios and companies, to augment its already huge library, than it did in its earlier days, plus it occasionally used to run some edited films back then, where they are all regularly un-cut these days.

It has branched out, showing all sorts of things film-related, occasionally even some classic TV (SCREEN DIRECTORS PLAYHOUSE, kinescopes of STUDIO ONE, Frank Sinatra's videotaped specials from the 1960s, THE DICK CAVETT SHOW and TONIGHT SHOW clips, etc) that have links to movies, without abandoning its original goal of featuring classic and vintage films, unedited and without commercial interruption. If only the other cable networks followed their lead, especially those that used to specialize in classic TV series.

In my opinion every channel in the ast 30 yrs lets day, usa, tvland all those a like that started out with great programing have either become a shell of what they used to be or in no way resemble what they used to be. i LOVED vh1 when they would show behind the music.legend, american bandstand and al those older music shows from the 70s. I just wished i would have taped them all. All the old classic tv shows that are not shown shown on tv anymore don't really bother me. I have taped just about all the series i really like to video for keep. and the ones the REALLY love i bought the season sets. Since a lot of the tv sets have become reasobaly priced for used sets and that on amazon or used tores i dont see the need or want if they are on tv, if i have a series on dvd and its on tv,im not going to watch it on tv at all
