I got to thinking about this because I just watched an episode of "One Day at a Time" where Ann Romano, who very much believed in corporal punishment, didn't allow her foster son to be paddled at school. She stated that she thought it was the parent's job to discipline the children. How do you think the Chief would have felt? He was a cop and head of the police department so he very much believed in discipline, but would he have wanted someone else physically punishing his daughters? A part of me can see him being the kind of parent to say "getting in trouble at school means getting in trouble at home", but I don't know. If one of them had done something that the school wanted to paddle, do you think he would allowed them to be paddled?
