I just posted the same question on Warner Archive's Facebook page, but they have yet to respond. Hopefully it won't be much longer since WA seems to be moving quicker on Eight is Enough now than they are on Alice and there are twice as many Alice seasons to go. Frump 08-26-2013, 01:52 PM I HOPE the release the WHOLE show and not just the Flo episodes. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Flo the best, but I'd still love to have the whole series and the Belle and Jolene episodes. It seems many shows have a tedency to do that, only show or release the most popular. Try to find ANY episodes of season 11 Carol Burnett Show, simply b/c Korman was absent. So I hope they don't stop after season 4. Yort 08-26-2013, 08:02 PM I HOPE the release the WHOLE show and not just the Flo episodes. In addition to the remaining seasons, do you know if a release of the Flo spin-off is in the works? ahafan02 09-03-2013, 11:58 AM I will have to ask, not sure, but there was talk of releasing it when season 4 of Alice is released. Dave_L 09-03-2013, 12:07 PM Thanks! It definitely makes sense to release it either at the same time as Season 4 or soon after. McGillicuddy 09-09-2013, 08:51 PM Flo departs before the end of season 4, so we will get the introduction to Belle, toward the end of the season. magellan333 09-14-2013, 08:39 AM In addition to the remaining seasons, do you know if a release of the Flo spin-off is in the works? I figured an episode might be an extra feature on a disc. I haven't seen a short lived show make a full season on DVD yet, unless it had some kind of cult following. I would love to see Enos on DVD someday, but don't have my hopes up. TVFactFan 09-14-2013, 10:45 AM I figured an episode might be an extra feature on a disc. That's My Mama was short-lived and both seasons are complete on DVD magellan333 09-14-2013, 09:10 PM That's My Mama was short-lived and both seasons are complete on DVD By "short lived ", I mean shows that lasted one season or less and are largely forgotten. I remember liking it as a kid when BET aired it. However, nothing compels me to see it again. I think with shows like Flo and Enos, we love their characters so much from the original programs, we chomp at the bit to enjoy them in some other way after we have seen all they had to offer on the original show. Funny that Enos and Boss Hogg guest starred on Alice... I watched the episode years ago on Youtube and it was like watching a lost episode of The Dukes. What you say makes sense, but I still have my fingers crossed. Hey, I couldn't believe it when Shout included the whole 1st season of Fish as a bonus feature on the Barney Miller set, so stranger things have happened. That said, if Warner Archive only had an interest in releasing 1 episode of Flo (as a bonus on an Alice set, like you suggested), then I would hope it would be the 1 episode I have a vague memory of from when it aired back when I was a kid - the episode where Mel (Vic Tayback) showed up for a visit. It's one more chance to see Flo and Mel interact beyond her final Alice appearance, so it seems like a natural choice. Kasey 09-15-2013, 10:59 AM I still have faith Warner Archive will release FLO: THE COMPLETE SERIES. A rep has stated before it may happen but only AFTER her character exits ALICE. IMO the Thanksgiving episode is fantastic which features all her brothers (who are perfectly cast BTW) and Forrest Tucker plays her Daddy like he did on ALICE. The show also boasts great casting in Flo's mother and sister (Sudie Bond and Lucy Lee Flippin). As a TV fan, I am sure you know who they are. But I have never seen that pic with Belle before so I am glad they are using that one. And it's from the proper time period too--the Spring 1980 TV Guide cover photo session when she still had the longer hair. Most pics of Diane Ladd with the cast feature her sporting the shorter 'Ann Landers'-type hairdo she wore in S5. Also interesting that they kept the original title font for this release. I was wondering if they would change it to the one they used on-air for S4 onward. It was used on the 2006 Best-Of DVD. tlc38tlc38 10-22-2013, 09:44 AM Just placed my order! Flo was still around for 3/4 of the season. Who knows who will be featured on the season 5 set, Belle or Jolene, cause Belle was on 3/4 of that season. Jolene debuted toward the end of the season. I think that's Flo's back not Belle's in that one picture with Alice. I can't tell. Jack77 10-29-2013, 09:48 PM It's more than obvious that Warner was marketing the Season 4 DVD for Diane Ladd, taking advantage of the fact that she played the original Flo in the movie earning her not only a Best Supp. Actress Academy Award Nomination but she actually won a Golden Globe for that role. Diane has had a very good working relationship with the studio throughout her career and it doesn't surprise me that they worked her onto the cover even if she does only appear on a few episodes on the last disc. The campaign slogan for this season DVD was "There's another new girl in town". Perhaps the powers that be at Warner thought after seeing Polly Holliday on the last three DVD covers, fans "the buyers" may have wanted a change even though most of us can all agree that Polly made the show! Remember it's all about the money and the executives will try anything new to bring in the dollars! With that said, I'm loving the 4th season! My favorite episode is Good Buddy Flo. Mel's Diner being rammed by old Flo at the wheel of that Big Trucker, Priceless! McGillicuddy 11-01-2013, 11:59 AM The photos on the back of the DVD plastic case all show Belle, as on the front. Weird that not only is Flo not on the cover, but she's also in none of the photos on the back. Then again, I've seen numerous examples of DVD sets where pictures on the front and back didn't even match the correct season, so at least the Belle pics matched Season 4's handful of Belle episodes. (I wonder of she will be completely missing from all pictures on the Season 5 set while Jolene, only in a handful of episodes that year, takes center stage.) Besides the photo selection, what's also strange on this set is the wording on the back cover about how Belle is "filling in" for Flo, as though Flo was coming back. Ultimately, it doesn't matter. What counts is that the episodes have finally been released. Just think, it wasn't that long ago that Alice on DVD seemed like a lost cause beyond the long out-of-print Favorites disc, and now we've gotten 4 seasons out in a relatively short time plus the upcoming Flo complete series release.
