Rockmond Dunbar Joins "The Mentalist"

Rockmond Dunbar has landed a multi-episode arc on "The Mentalist", Deadline.com reports.

The "Prison Break", "Sons of Anarchy" actor will play FBI Agent Dennis Abbott, a no-nonsense cop who isn't impressed by Patrick Jane (Simon Baker).



With the impending exits of Amanda Righetti and Owain Yeoman, Dunbar has the potential to become a series regular.

"The Mentalist" returns Sunday, Sept. 29 at 10/9c on CBS.

Rockmond Dunbar‘s first "Mentalist" episode hasn’t even aired yet, but the actor has already earned a permanent place on the show’s call sheet.

Dunbar, who was initially hired for a three-episode arc, has been promoted to a full-fledged series regular on the CBS procedural, TVLine has learned exclusively.



He will play Dennis Abbott, a no-nonsense FBI Supervisory Agent who isn’t impressed by Patrick Jane’s skills or charm.

His first episode is slated to air on Nov. 10.
