TV Land Cancels "Happily Divorced" after Two Seasons
Aug 23, 2013
by Kate Stanhope

TV Land is splitting up from "Happily Divorced".

The Fran Drescher-led comedy has been canceled after two seasons, Deadline.com reports.

Based on Drescher's real life, "Happily Divorced" starred "The Nanny" alum as a woman who re-enters the dating world after finding out that her husband (John Michael Higgins) is gay and must learn to juggle her relationships with her boyfriend and her ex-husband.

The series premiered to an impressive 2.4 million viewers in the summer of 2011. The comedy's last original episode aired in February.

"Happily Divorced" joins fellow original TV Land original sitcom "Retired at 35", which got the axe after three seasons.

Sorry to hear that this show has been cancelled. Watching "Happily Divorced" was a good way to spend part of an evening.

The show had a terrific cast and all kinds of story possibilities.

Too bad the writing was piss poor. It certainly wasn't up to par of "The Nanny."

Good writing can make even horrible actors look good, but bad writing can make even good actors look horrible.

No wonder we haven't heard from it for months. Fran is in Cinderella on Broadway now.
