Kelly Garrett, 69, went to be with our Lord on August 7, 2013. She is survived by her mother, Sabina C de Baca; brother, John Boulton; sisters, Georgia Pearson, Anita DuPree, Marty Boulton, Mary Kay Boulton, Rita Wolfe, Frances Boulton and Mary Jo Carrion; numerous nieces and nephews. Kelly was born in Chester, Pennsylvania, and was raised in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She loved Pecos, New Mexico, where she and her siblings spent many weekends at her grandparents’ home on the Pecos River. She attended the College Conservatory of Music in Cincinnati, Ohio. She moved to California at a very young age of 17 where she worked as a bank teller during the day and nightclub singer at night. It was there that her singing career was launched, and she spent many years in California and in New York, where she performed in many Broadway musicals. Kelly won a Theatre World Award for her musical performance in Mother Earth (1972) and was nominated for Drama Desk and Tony awards for The Night that Made America Famous (1975). She sang one of the Oscar-nominated songs ("Richard's Window") at the 1976 Academy Awards ceremony. From 1964 to 1980, Kelly appeared in several TV series, such as Shivaree, Shindig, Your Hit Parade, Headliners with David Frost, The Jim Nabors Show, Musical Chairs, The Burns and Schreiber Comedy Hour, The Dean Martin Comedy Hour, The Real Tom Kennedy Show , The Joey Bishop Show, and Playboy After Dark. She was a guest in 29 episodes of The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. She recorded several songs since 1963, including "Baby It Hurts", “Tommy Makes Girls Cry", “Leavin’ On Your Mind”, “Love’s The Only Answer”, “Nothing Left to Give”, “You Step Into My World”, and "As Far as We Can Go".
