...There are 30 NBA teams, 30 MLB teams and 30 NHL teams.
Should NBA, MLB and NHL have 2 teams added to make it a total of 32 each?

I believe the NHL is talking about getting a team in Seattle, not sure if will be a new team or a relocation. MrCleveland 08-22-2013, 02:31 PM If they get them it shouldn't be just to match the NFL. I believe the NHL is talking about getting a team in Seattle, not sure if will be a new team or a relocation. It'll vary...but I feel Seattle may get a team like Nashville or Phoenix in the NHL. Kansas City, Quebec, and Hamilton are nominees as well. For MLB... It'll probably be San Juan and they'll be called Puerto Rico Coquis (a native frog) and Mexico City where baseball is their 2nd sport (soccer is still #1 there). For NBA... It could be anywhere...Austin, Kansas City, Seattle, Las Vegas, Albuquerque, Mexico City, Louisville, Richmond, Little Rock...you name it. gilligan fanatic 08-22-2013, 03:04 PM It'll vary...but I feel Seattle may get a team like Nashville or Phoenix in the NHL. Kansas City almost got the Penguins a few years ago before Consol Energy Center was built. I'm glad they didn't move. I believe they wanted the Islanders too before they got a new arena lease. And they're the ONLY team I'll root for that's in Pittsburgh...The Pirates aren't really anything and the Steelers...I have my reasons. gilligan fanatic 08-22-2013, 03:58 PM Yep...I'm glad they didn't either, they're my 2nd Favorite NHL Team besides the Columbus Blue Jackets. And they're the ONLY team I'll root for that's in Pittsburgh...The Pirates aren't really anything and the Steelers...I have my reasons. wait a minute... the Blue Jackets are your favorite team??!? I gave up on them long ago because I was tired of watching them lose and their management making such terrible long-term decisions with the team. Even with the great goalie they lucked into, they are quite aways away from being a decent team. - Yet they somehow ALWAYS manage to beat my Canucks whenever they play, and that is literally the only time I get to see the Nucks play here in OH. anyways - the NHL realignment seems crazy having it unbalanced with two more teams in the East than the West, I REALLY hope Seattle gets a new expansion team, and Kansas City, Quebec, and Hamilton are all decent choices for an expansion (pending any owners groups knowing what the hell they are doing) but they are all in the East so it doesn't really help with the balance. DJM77 08-22-2013, 06:12 PM The Pirates aren't really anything. They're having a good season for the first time in over 20 years. They're in first place right now. MrCleveland 08-23-2013, 09:32 AM Jealousy? ;) No...rivalry, like how the Packers and the Lions or Packers and Bears are rivalries. And I haven't been following the Pirates, if they do go to The World Series...I hope they don't pull a Marlins scenario, trade the better players to save money. gilligan fanatic 08-23-2013, 03:11 PM No...rivalry, like how the Packers and the Lions or Packers and Bears are rivalries. I know, I was just messing with you, haha Sal 09-04-2013, 10:41 PM I think the NHL has had enough expansion. It might be a lot better league if they subtracted teams (Phoenix, Carolina, Tampa, Florida, Nashville, Columbus) rather than added some. The only way I see them adding more teams is through relocation, which is a main reason why the divisions were all realigned this season. I would love to see more teams in Canada, especially in Hamilton and Quebec and possibly even a second team in Toronto. I'm not entirely convinced that Seattle will be a success unless they can draw the majority of their fans from the Vancouver area. One US city that I'm sure could work but never gets talked about is Milwaukee. They have great fans for football and baseball, it's close to the Canadian border, it's a natural rival for Chicago and perhaps Detroit, and the winters are made for hockey. But it may never happen because it makes too much sense! MrCleveland 09-05-2013, 12:57 PM wait a minute... the Blue Jackets are your favorite team??!? The Blue Jackets are yes...but I wish that Dan Gilbert would buy the team and move them to Cleveland since they're more into hockey rather than my state capital that would rather watch the Buckeyes than the Blue Jackets. The NHL is ****ed-up now that I wish there would be a new WHA League with these teams.... East Brooklyn Hartford Baltimore Cleveland Quebec Hamilton Atlanta West Houston Las Vegas San Diego Seattle Saskatoon Kansas City Portland Dianne3 09-05-2013, 05:45 PM What fans want is irrelevant. All the matters to the NHL, is what will make them the most $$$. Not on the topic of expansion but apparently the Heritage Classic in Vancouver is not selling too well, which I'm glad. The ticket prices are outrageous. I wonder what the ticket prices are for the other outdoor games. |
