Anyone see The Odd Monks episode Monday night on ME-TV? It was hilarious, especially the scene where Felix and Oscar were sentenced to 24 hours of silence after Oscar organized a crap game and Felix caught him. It was one example of why Tony Randall and Jack Klugman are one of the top TV comedy teams of all-time.

I agree, sometimes they were even better than Walter Matthau (or however it's spelled:lol: ) & Jack Lemmon (the movies Oscar & Felix for those who don't know)

Love Felix's Ant Story! The "Vow of Silence" bread baking contest. Oscar bored cuz there's nothing to read before he goes to sleep! "No magazines in the Brother John?" LOL!

Actually,
I always preferred Tony Randall and Jack Klugman to Walter Mattheu and Jack Lemmon. Mr. Lemmon in the Odd Couple movie, I always thought played Felix too depressingly. Tony Randall brought more warmth and love to Felix's character. Walter Mattheu's Oscar I thought was a bit too mean-spirited to Felix in the movie. I still LOVE the classic "Meatloaf-Garvey fight' in the movie!
To be fair, the movie had two hours to develop the characters, so the film Odd Couple HAD to go over the top, (such as Oscar's crying breakdown, which I thought was a strain on believability.) In contrast, the series had five years to expand, grow, and you got to know Felix and Oscar better.
The movie is very good and classic in spots. However, the TV series is classic throughout!

PS Best movie line:
Oscar: "We're all out of cornflakes F.U" Took me three hours to figure out that F.U was Felix Ungar!"
