I think it starts today on the former Speed Network. It's going to have College Football and College Basketball and next year Major League Baseball as well as a nightly sports show. I think they're going to have a nightly NFL show as well.

Fox’s new national sports network, FOX Sports 1, will debut on Saturday, August 17th, with every major distributor on board, making this the biggest sports cable network launch in history, and one of the largest network launches ever. The announcement was made by Mike Hopkins, President, Distribution, Fox Networks.

“We are thrilled that virtually all pay-television customers across America will have access to FOX Sports 1,” said Mr. Hopkins. “This network launch is a major milestone for Fox and will alter the sports television landscape. We are grateful to our distribution partners for making this all possible.”

At the outset, FOX Sports 1 boasts nearly 5,000 hours of live event, news and original programming annually. A robust schedule of live events forms the backbone of FOX Sports 1’s programming from Day 1, with college basketball, college football, NASCAR, soccer, boxing and UFC all on tap between launch and year’s end. In fact, the schedule on August 17th features live events morning, noon and night including a NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race from Michigan and UFC FIGHT NIGHT: SHOGUN VS. SONNEN in prime time. In 2014, FOX Sport’s new rights agreement with MLB takes effect, bringing regular and postseason games to FOX Sports 1.

Until College football and basketball comes on, I don't think there's much on it that I'm interested in. When they get the NFL maybe they'll compete with ESPN.

I watched a little on Saturday and Sunday. A lot of UFC and MotoGP which is not my cup of tea. I'll be watching when college football and the NFL starts up just hear another group of loud mouths on Saturday and Sunday mornings.:)

I watched a little on Sat. and Sun. as well and its ok although with Charissa Thompson, Georgie Thompson and Katie Nolan on my screen, it's hard not to watch, you know?:D

There's also Fox Sports 2, launched on the same day and time. Like getting a double whammy (two for the price of one). FS2 replaced Fuel TV.

Oh Fuel TV is gone? That where Fox Sports 2 is now? I have to see if I had Fuel in my area.

Not sure that Fox 1 will be much competition for ESPN, we'll have to see what kind of programming they will develop.

I can't stand most of the people at ESPN, so I wouldn't mind seeing Fox 1 do well.... but so far, a lot of their programming is UFC and racing. I respect race car drivers and I respect racing fans, but to me, UFC is idiotic, and I wouldn't walk across the street to go to anything like that.

I haven't seen any college football yet on Fox 1... but I can watch college football any time (even if it's on ESPN). Actually, on ESPN, it's mostly the Sportscenter anchors I can't stand. And I can't watch their football show because I really really can't stand Chris Berman.

I'll just have to wait and see how the programming pans out. I can't really figure out what Fox 1 is trying to sell, except a bunch of stuff that ESPN doesn't want. Also, with Fox 1, I'm sick of Michael Strayhan doing whatever it takes to keep himself in the public spotlight (he's trying to make the Pro Football Hall of Fame and doesn't want to disappear altogether because he thinks that will hurt his HOF chances). He was a studio analyst for Fox on Sundays, and he was TERRIBLE. Then he goes to that stupid show with fellow moron Kelly what's-her-name. Enough of Strahan already.
