"Devious Maids" has been renewed for a second season, Lifetime announced Tuesday. The series, executive-produced by Marc Cherry and Eva Longoria, will return for a second season consisting of 13 episodes next year.

"Devious Maids" follows a close-knit group of maids, played by Ana Ortiz, Dania Ramirez and Roselyn Sanchez, among others.

"One of the most daring series on television, 'Devious Maids' has quickly become a hit," said Rob Sharenow, executive vice president and general manager of Lifetime.

"We are very proud of the show and are delighted to continue our partnership with Marc Cherry, Eva Longoria, Sabrina Wind, ABC Studios and Televisa USA. I am thrilled we are bringing 'Devious Maids' back for a second season to lead our scripted slate in 2014."

"Devious Maids" debuted in late June to 2 million viewers, but has grown in the subsequent weeks, hitting a series high of 2.9 million viewers two weeks ago.

I like the show but somehow missed the 3rd from the last episode. I wonder if it will be replayed. Oh when does the new season start? The actresses all play their parts so well. The guys too. It is fun show.

I do wish these shows would hurry with the program. The shows has been off the air so long, I forgotten so much about the plots. Years ago a show ran 39 episode with 13 or so repeats and the show flowed so much better. Now it 10-15 episodes shows and you wait a year. Sad.
