R.I.P. Karen Black

The Five Easy Pieces Oscar nominee also known for such films Nashville and Alfred Hitchcock’s final pic Family Plot has died at 74.

She recently had turned to crowdfunding to help with her long battle against cancer.



Her husband, Stephen Eckelberry, confirmed Black’s death in a Facebook post:

“It is with great sadness that I have to report that my wife and best friend, Karen Black has just passed away, only a few minutes ago. Thank you all for all your prayers and love, they meant so much to her as they did to me.”

I'm sorry she's died. Wasn't she the air hostess who flew the plane unaided for awhile before Charlton Heston crept into the hole and took over the controls in the disaster movie Airport 75?

Yes,She was in that airport movie. She was also in one of my favorites, " Trilogy of Terror " Where she gets chased around by that little voodoo doll with that knife.

Yep, loved her in both of those roles. She's one of those actresses I instantly associate VERY closely with the 1970's. I don't think she did a ton of work before then, nor, unfortunately, after.

I always found her very exotically beautiful.
