Doogie and Wanda got married right after Wanda graduated and Wanda would have went to college and Doogie would have went to work?

That might've been a nice idea for a TV-movie reunion or something, but I think it would've killed the dynamic of the show. The whole appeal with Doogie Howser, M.D. generally was the concept of a kid doctor- this brilliant kid who has already finished high school and college- but he's still just a teenager and he's working as a doctor- once Doogie actually got to the age where most people begin their professional careers- I think some of the novelty would have been lost. But yeah- I would also want to see Doogie and Wanda together dating as a couple at least- but I'd also would have liked to see them get married, perhaps as the series finale.

Yes the series finale would have been great. ABC pulled the plug on Doogie too soon. Steven Bochco planned to end the show with a season-long story arc where Doogie burns out on medicine and quits medicine to become a writer but ABC cancelled the show due to low ratings.

I remember reading that somewhere- I would have been interested to see that storyline. I could see Doogie being a writer, considering all the practice he got with his journal entries every episode.:) :cool:
