What would the week be without another anti-FOX rant from me?
Once again, FOX is at it again my friends.
From the people who brought you "Who Wants To Marry a Multi Millionaire" and "Who Wants To Be A Princess," comes another Television gem.
Gluttonbowl: The World's Greatest Eating Contest. (Thurs. 8PM EST) 40 contestants will consume massive amounts of food for cash prizes. I kid you not. Perhaps you've seen the promos.
I am asking all decent people out there to please, do the right thing. Watch the Olympics. Read a book. Play a game with your kids. Do some extra credit homework. Sometimes, it's even okay to turn off the TV.
Say no to bad programming.

I wish I was one of those Nelson families so I could avoid this program and let them see that I avoid trash like this. I hope the Nelson families are smart enough to not watch.

I agree. I think I am going to WATCH it. I hope most of the contestants aren't fat people. You know?

Same here. I've always wanted to do my part in sabotaging bad programming.
And it's Neilsen, not Nelson. :)

Listen, I think the Glutton Bowl is a silly, trashy concept. However, the Fox network has always been different. They'll never be like NBC or CBS and they're not trying to. They were successful at becoming a network by being different. Some of it's good, some of it's bad. But I will praise Fox for taking risks on programs that other networks wouldn't. Yes, the Glutton Bowl and Who wants to marry a multimillionaire are trashy but they're different. (Just like Fox) Fox took chances and brought back primetime animation. They tried to bring back the variety shows. Their sitcoms are somewhat uniqe and quirky. Fox, I believe is a great alternative to the rest of these sometimes stuffy, pompous major networks. LONG LIVE FOX!!!

I think watching an eating contest isn't that interesting. Its kind of disgusting to watch people eat.

I was "channel surfing" and came across this show (at least, based on the description above, I think that's what it was!). I saw all of these people sitting at a long table, stuffing their face. After about 30 seconds, I said "this is fairly bizarre", and moved on. I think this "Reality TV" fad has just about run its course.

Glutton Bowl can't be half as bad as Temptation Island.

Amen, brother.
We'll see how well the next Survivor does in a few weeks.
If the ratings continue to drop, don't expect too many more reality shows this year.
