It's a shame that they didn't give all three kids more to do on the show. they were all pretty good actors when given a chance. I especially would have like to see more of Chris (Candy) since she was so easy on the eyes!!!

Her one big line for every appearance seemed to be, "Oh, mother!"

Her biggest contribution to the show was probably the ice cream parlor episode in season 1.

It's great to see Candy in living color in Season 2.

I recommend her appearances on Leave It to Beaver and The Donna Reed Show. She had some substantial roles on both.

I have no idea what the story is about this single, but my guess is that it was a big promotion to get the teenage boys to watch TLS with the focus of "Chris from 'The Lucy Show'" as seen on the picture sleeve that is shown in the video, as well as the record label.

In one of the Lucy books I've read, Candy stated that it was Lucy who made Candy read her lines in that 'sing-songy' voice and since Lucy was the boss, Candy did not want to protest despite the fact that "no real teenager would speak that way". Candy tried to reason that if Chris had just broken up with her boyfriend, etc. Chris would not be so perky, but Lucy wasn't having any of it and so Candy played the part exactly as directed.

p.s. "Lucy is a Soda Jerk" may well be my favorite episode of the series.

Indeed she was. And those eyes alone made her convincing as Lucy's daughter. Yes, she and the other kids were pretty much just props, like comedyfreak said. But I think Candy could have helped them with the teenage boys.

I agree Candy is pretty. She resembles Stephen Talbot, the kid who played Gilbert, Beaver's friend on Leave It To Beaver. The resemblence is strong to the point where she almost looks like his twin sister. :lol:

I didn't know she made a record, after giving a listen I agree it sounds pretty bad. The songs do have that early 60's sound to them, it's the type of music that was in vogue at the time.

Ironically, Lucie Arnaz herself was given more to do when she guested as Chris's contemporary friend Cynthia during the ice cream parlor episode. Namely, this supporting player actually got a closeup during a scene while chatting with Lucy but the regular cast member playing Lucy's daughter NEVER seemed to get a closeup.
Thankfully, despite Lucy's rather blatant nepotism in pushing her preteen daughter to play her character's teen daughter's friend and the actual age gap, by both Lucie Arnaz's and Candy Moore's accounts, these two performers became instant, genuine friends and seem to have stayed in touch with each other in the decades since the show's demise.
