As much as I like Wilson, we never have known for him to be employed in any sort. Surely he would require income to continue living. Though we don't know exactly how old his character is supposed to be, he was being referred to as "middle-aged" as late as season 7, so I doubt he would have been old enough to be retired. For as smart as the guy was, I'm sure he could have had his pick of good-paying occupations. We know he wrote a book once, but I think it sold like 7 copies.

Good question. Maybe he was retired? Sounds like a likely guess. He might also have been selling some of his artwork. Wilson had a lot of talents on the show for sure.

Wilson also worked as a park ranger in the episode called "Totally Tool Time" in season 6!!!

I believe Wilson is retired and had a few side-jobs just to get out of the house.
