In one episode, she said that she moved to America after she married her first husband. So she must have either been in her late teens or early 20s. As an adult, she should have known how old she was. Because in another episode, she tells Dorothy that Sal found her birth certificate which states that she's actually one year older than she thought she was. Immigration screwed up when she moved to the United States. She didn't know her own birthday? What adult doesn't know when they're born? Also, if she moved to America as a young adult, she would still have an accent. Why no Italian accent?
Any other Sophia Petrillo inconsistencies?
When Angela visits, Sophia says she and Angela are the only two left of the original family- until, of course, Angelo later surfaces. :) Course, some thing Angelo was a male replacement for Angela, as she's never mentioned again after her second visit.

That's right! And Angela and Angelo never had a scene together.

Right. I can only assume Angela had a sex change.

I always thought it was strange that a family would name their children Angela and Angelo, unless they were twins, but no mention was ever made of this. Seems like it would be a little confusing having two children with such similar names!
A sex change would have made an interesting storyline. But since Angelo had been pretending to be a priest for years and years, probably not. :D
