Today is supposed to be the day my family treats me to dinner for my birthday and I was told that depending on the weather it may or may not happened because it's a CHANCE OF A THUNDERSTORM?????????????????????


we are not eating the f*ck outside LOL. I believe that I will seriously separate myself from my family if they reschedule dinner plans behind a damm thunderstorm.

Weather patterns are becoming increasingly erratic due to global warming. We have a severe weather warning in Britain right now which is unusual to say the least. I would say depending on how far your family has to travel to get together and the roadworthiness of your vehicle your family is right to err on the cautious side.

The fact that my birthday was on 6/22 and it is now 7/28, I don't think a Thunderstorm should stop us from going out.

If it was the weekend of the 6/22 then I would have been like OK fine. But I have hearing excuse after excuse for the past 5 weeks and it is making me seriously separate myself from the family.

So far I have participated in 2 birthday dinners this year and now I am being told a Thunderstorm is going to be the reason I won't get my dinner? lol

Glad you had a nice birthday dinner. We're big on birthday dinners in my family. My Dad passed some time ago so for Christmas I always find a show to take my Mom to. It is better than any tangible gift as we get to spend time together and have some great memories of that.

I don't know your situation but being somewhat of a caretaker in my own family, I know the older people get the more touchy they get about things like weather. If it is raining outside, I get a call from my Mom worried that the driving is bad. The funny part about that is that she doesn't drive but it is sweet for her to care.

Not sure if this little bit adds any value to the thread. I had pasta for dinner and celebrated my dogs adoption anniversary.
