Jason Sudeikis Not Returning to "Saturday Night Live"

Jason Sudeikis has officially left "Saturday Night Live".

It had been rumored that Sudeikis was leaving the NBC sketch comedy show since the season finale in May, but the funnyman confirmed it during his appearance on the "Late Show with David Letterman" on Wednesday.


"I'm definitely done. I'm not coming back next fall," said Sudeikis, who has been with SNL for 10 years, two of which he worked as a writer, followed by eight years as on-camera talent.

Sudeikis, who is well-known for his Joe Biden impression, joins castmembers Fred Armisen and Bill Hader in exiting Studio 8H.

Three top-notch male performers are gone, and Seth Meyers will exit later this year. As Andrew Wallenstein points out, "Even if all the new entries turn out to be the next Will Ferrells, it's a lot of new blood to take in at once. Few new cast members ever have an instant impact on “SNL”; it can take years for rookies to really grow into their own skin."
