I'm a little baffled as to why Cold Case Files devoted TWO entire episodes to the Green River Killer, especially since there wasn't much difference between them and Bill Kurtis was strangely absent from one of them.
But, both episodes did a pretty good job of describing how devoted Dave Reichert, a police officer who was promoted to Sheriff, was in finding the country's most prolific serial killer. A few years ago, my knowledge of Dave Reichert was limited to knowing he was a U.S. congressmen from Washington state. The CCF episodes detail how Reichert essentially devoted his entire adult life in tracking down Ridgway, working many 10-12 hour days and him constantly having his sleep interrupted because he was constantly waking up and writing down notes as to how to find the killer. And despite that, you had some idiotic protestors claiming that the police weren't doing enough and that they didn't care about the victims because they were prostitutes.
My favorite Reichert moment was when he saw Ridgway for the first time after DNA evidence linked him and said: "Gotcha, *******"
