Why is it forgotten? Because, says Todd VanDerWerff, "it's become a synonym for a kind of TV that's not cool anymore, dominated more by emotional reactions than high-stakes drama, filled with basically good people trying to do what’s basically the right thing."

I was just thinking of Party of Five (https://www.esquire.com/entertainment/tv/a30447319/party-of-five-original-series-importance/) after I came across this program on Vice TV called Dark Side of the '90s (https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/dark-side-of-the-90s-90210-melrose-place-tv-for-teens.html/). Scott Wolf was interviewed in the "TV for Teens" episode.

So when I went back to the old TWoP forums (https://web.archive.org/web/20140405133910/http://forums.televisionwithoutpity.com/topic/3113762-party-of-five/page-5) (keep in mind that PO5 had only been off the air (https://www.datalounge.com/thread/30706350-hottie-matthew-fox-is-planning-a-comeback) for over five years at the time) it was already considered a show that had faded (https://web.archive.org/web/20140405133910/http://forums.televisionwithoutpity.com/topic/3113762-party-of-five/page-5#entry6682091) from the public's consciousness.

The commenters there were of the opinion that PO5 is simply a show that doesn't have (https://web.archive.org/web/20140405133910/http://forums.televisionwithoutpity.com/topic/3113762-party-of-five/page-5#entry6682648) a lot of rewatch value. It was pretty depressing, preachy (https://web.archive.org/web/20140406220723/http://forums.televisionwithoutpity.com/topic/3113762-party-of-five/page-6#entry6691793), and not as soapy as a lot of its counterparts. Also, depending on who you ask (https://web.archive.org/web/20140405133910/http://forums.televisionwithoutpity.com/topic/3113762-party-of-five/page-5#entry6683016), the overall quality of the show went down (https://web.archive.org/web/20061031125348/http://www.jumptheshark.com/p/partyoffive.htm) with bad plotlines. So the fan base is not as strong as it could be.
