"Chicago Fire" is coming under Michelle Forbes‘ scrutinizing eye.

"The Killing" alumna has booked a recurring role on Season 2 of the NBC drama as a high-ranking consultant with the State Fire Marshal’s office, TVLine has learned.



The actress’ character, Gail McLeod, is in charge of monitoring budgets and performance at the city’s fire houses. That may spell trouble for the men and women at 51, which is definitely under her microscope.

"Chicago Fire" returns Tuesday, Sept. 24 at 10/9c.

Wasn't she also on Guiding Light back in the day? She was once married to former Santa Barbara actor, Ross Kettle.

She started on GL in the early '80s and made sporadic appearances throughout the '90s and late 2000s.

She was also pretty good on True Blood. Hope she does well on Chicago Fire.
