I'm currently reading Jimmie Walker's book, DYN-O-MITE! I've learned a lot about Jimmie I didn't previously know. Like what a rough childhood he had growing up in a tough neigborhood. And with a lousy father. And that he started his stand-up career as an opening act at Black Panther rallies. Also that at one time both Leno and Letterman worked for Jimmie ask joke writers. Anyone else read this book? What was your impression?

Jimmie is very honest and straightforward in telling about his life and career and the people who have been part of it. It makes for a very interesting read. The kind of book that's hard to put down once you start!!

It was fascinating to read Jimmie's take on the Late Night Wars given his friendships with both Letterman and Leno! I gained a lot of respect for Letterman after reading Jimmie's section on this and lost a lot of respect for Leno!

I especially loved reading about his friendship with fellow comic, the late Steve Landesberg, better known as Sgt. Arthur P. Dietrich on Barney Miller. :D
