"Teen Wolf" fans now know for long they will have to do without, after the midseason finale airs on Aug. 19.

The MTV thriller announced at Comic-Con on Thursday night that Season 3 will resume on Jan. 6, 2014.

And from the looks of this brand-new, heart-pounding, vein-popping, canine-baring trailer for the second half of the season, those 20 weeks may seem interminable.

Whatever the case, it looks like a very hot winter ahead for Scott, Stiles et al!

Man I hate when they divide shows up like that. You forget what happened in the first half & feel like you're missing something when the second half begins. They do this on so many of the shows now.

The show can't run for every week of the year. It's better to go from August to January then have to wait, like for the past couple years, until the next June for it to start. It's a much shorter wait, it's pretty nice news.

I know this show can't run every week of the year, didn't say it could. ;) My complaint about the issue of dividing up a season is that you forget what happened in the first half when you're made to wait 3 or 4 or 5 months to see the last half of the season. They do this with other shows too like Switched at Birth, Pretty Little Liars, The Walking Dead, etc.. It was bad enough when they made you wait over the Thanksgiving & Christmas holidays to see the rest of the season, now the breaks last longer than that. I'd much rather watch all the episodes in a row & then have them put some new show on to take it's place until the next season starts. But maybe I'm in the minority on this issue. Either way I'll still watch the show even if they break up into 4 parts.

I get what you mean, it sucks having to wait so long for a show to return. But in this case what's great is that the past 2 seasons have only been 10 episodes or so. So, now we're getting twice as many episodes or you could think of it as season 4 starting in Jan instead of June since the storylines will be continuing.

I was confused why they were releasing Season 3 part 1 on dvd, in Dec. I didn't know there's a whole second half that has not aired yet.
