Bobby Buntrock (I forgot how to spell his name, sorry) who portrayed Harold Baxter was killed in an automobile accident when he was about 20 years old. Did he act in any other projects than Hazel? Did he wanted to commit suicide? I read that his mother died the same way and in the same location too.

Bobby Buntrock died in April of 1974 in a car accident on a bridge. His mother passed away 2 years earlier in her home due to cardiac arrest.

He had a few parts in TV shows before Hazel, The Jack Benny Show, I definitely remember him in the Christmas episode with Don Wilson as a little kid visiting Santa. I know I've seen him I other shows (just a few), maybe Wagon Train??, but I don't recall specifically. Go to IMDB that'll tell you better for other appearances. I didn't see him in any TV shows after Hazel though.

Do you know anything about his death?

Juliet,

In 1967, as a film producer for the US Air Force, I had the opportunity to use Bobby, for one day, in a minor role about safety at home. On the set that day, Bobby was elated when he received a call from his agent who told him that he had been selected to appear in a television episode of "The Virginian".

Due to the many errors surrounding Bobby's death, I am working on a brief "official" biographical sketch/obituary on him. I have recently obtained a local newspaper article describing his accident and I have obtained the address and telephone number of his sister; I soon plan to interview her. His death was an accident and not a suicide. (I am told, though not certain, that he was trying to drive around a road barricade, his car slipped into a water-filled trench, where he drowned.) I believe his father may still be alive though quite elderly. You can view a photo of his grave-site, as well as one of his mother's, at findagrave.com. For the most current list of his acting roles, see the Internet Movie Data Base (IMDB.com).
