"Supernatural" Season 9: Jim Beaver To Return as Bobby Singer

What's dead never stays dead on The CW's "Supernatural", which means that we rarely have to say a permanent goodbye to some of our favorite characters.

Now it appears that Jim Beaver's Bobby Singer is the latest beloved guest star to return to the cult hit, despite the character's powerful death in Season 7.





Beaver first broke the news via Twitter on Monday evening, which was then confirmed by The CW.

"Try not to get excited, but I'm coming back to SUPERNATURAL. For real."

"I don't know how or why, but I know when. Once I've read the script, I'll know how & why. But you won't. :-) #Bobbysback"

"Supernatural‘s" Bobby Singer is rising from the great beyond.

Jim Beaver will reprise his role as Sam and Dean’s dead father figure on Season 10 of The CW series, our sister site Variety reports.

In the episode, airing April 1, Sam and Castiel need help from someone in heaven, so they turn to Bobby.

"Supernatural" is going back in time to Season 5, with an assist from fan fave Bobby Singer — and another hunter pal.

Jim Beaver will reprise his role as the Winchesters’ beloved father figure in an upcoming Season 11 installment, TVLine has learned exclusively.





The actor — who was last seen on The CW series providing help from Heaven in Season 10’s “Inside Man” — will appear via flashbacks in Episode 16, alongside Steven Williams as hunter Rufus (who was killed during Season 6).

“Dean and Sam are going to be investigating an old case that was once investigated by Bobby and Rufus,” in what would have been Season 5, executive producer Jeremy Carver tells TVLine.

“There’s a lot of great throwbacks to things that happened during that season,” the EP continues, including “the wonderful relationship between Bobby and Rufus. That’s going to be a really neat episode.”
