While there are a select few episodes which are either somewhat questionable or truly abysmal, TNG has a very strong batting average weighing in its favor with notable classics such as “The Inner Light,” “Yesterday’s Enterprise,” “Q Who,” and, the universal favorite “The Best of Both Worlds.” Other episodes, including “Code of Honor,” “Angel One,” and the universally panned “Shades of Gray” (the second season finale for which even the producers remain openly embarrassed to this day) remain buried in our minds as they very well should.
Even with the impressive track record of quality for the crew of the Enterprise-D’s adventures, some episodes have, in the test of time, wrongfully ended up lost in the limbo between the aforementioned peak and trough of quality. These 10 episodes, whether just above average or unappreciated greats, have escaped our minds for reasons that may include unfortunately subpar acting, writing or storytelling, or they could simply live in the shadow of an episode that either preceded or followed it.
