Ok heres a question, somewhere in the 1st series Martin states he has no brother, however in Beware of Greeks in series 5 he turns up. Its more than likely i missed something inbetween but can some one fill in the gaps??

It's just a simple case of sitcom inconsistency. It's just like on Cheers, Frasier's father was a chemist and died. Or the Odd Couple where Felix and Oscar are childhood friends one episode, then the next they meet during jury duty.

Interesting point Jay29
But if you remember "Beware of the Greeks", Martin says that he has not seen or spoken to his brother in a number of years. All because of Frasier's interference.
So perhaps Martin considered himself to be without a brother due to the lack of commucication with him.
In any case, Frasier is still a well written show, despite the minor inconsistencies.
