Here's an interesting thread for movie buffs on this board.

Sometimes, when a movie airs on television for the first time, additional scenes not seen in theaters or even on home video will be included. To me, this is the coolest aspect of movies in general. What are some examples of movies you can think of that fit this criteria?

Here's what I know of:

Ace Ventura: Pet Detective (1994)
Airplane! (1980)
Airplane II: The Sequel (1982)
Alligator (1980)
Blazing Saddles (1974)
Braveheart (1995)
The Breakfast Club (1985)
Carrie (1976)
Child's Play 2 (1990)
The Concorde: Airport '79 (1979)
Critters 2 (1988)
Earthquake (1974)
Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982)
First Blood (1982)
Friday the 13th Part IV: The Final Chapter (1984)
The Funhouse (1981)
Ghost Dad (1990)
The Goonies (1985)
The Godfather (1972)
The Godfather: Part 2 (1974)
The Godfather: Part 3 (1990)
Halloween (1978)
Halloween 2 (1981)
Halloween H20: 20 Years Later (1998)
Jaws (1975)
The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad! (1988)
The Naked Gun 2 and a 1/2: The Smell of Fear (1991)
The Naked Gun 33 and a 1/3: The Final Insult (1994)
Private School (1983)
Problem Child (1990)
Problem Child 2 (1991)
Prom Night (1980)
The Rugrats Movie (1998)
Scarface (1983)
Superman III (1983)
The Thing (1982)
Videodrome (1983)
The Warriors (1979)
Waterworld (1995)
Weird Science (1985)

Some observations:

1) More often than not, the deleted scenes for some of these movies never end up on DVD. Sometimes, they do, like Waterworld and Halloween for example. I have no idea why.

2) Most of the time, the deleted scenes for some of these movies were from the original filming. But sometimes, they were filmed years after that. Halloween and The Concorde: Airport '79 are examples of that.

3) It might be just me, but the majority of movies with scenes in television but not in theaters or home video were Universal Pictures releases.

4) On some of the early home video boxarts, there are pictures from deleted scenes that were later seen on television. Problem Childs 1 & 2 are examples of that.

Army Of Darkness showed scenes that weren't included in the theatrical versions.

When "Night and Day" (Cruise-Diaz) aired on a network channel, it showed several scenes not shown when I saw it on one of the movie channels.
