"American Idol's" Adam Lambert Joining "Glee" for Season 5

Looks like someone finally got that call from Ryan Murphy!

"American Idol" Season 8 runner-up Adam Lambert is joining the cast of "Glee", series creator Murphy announced on Twitter Wednesday. "I am thrilled to announce that the super talented Adam Lambert is joining the cast of Glee this fall," Murphy tweeted.



It is unknown who Lambert will be playing on the show.

"Glee" returns Thursday, Sept. 19 at 9/8c on Fox.

The Fox musical "Glee" returns from its hiatus on a high note with guest stars Demi Lovato and Adam Lambert — as a theatrical singer named Starchild, of course — lending their powerful pipes to Kurt's (Chris Colfer) new band.

"I'm having so much fun with this story line," raves Naya Rivera, who plays Santana. "Adam and Demi are a blast to sing with!"
