View Full Version : Nice Lynette Winter article from 1965
installLSC 07-06-2013, 10:57 PM I was looking around the internet for Lynette Winter articles, and here's one of the few I could find. It's from 1965. (http://news.google.com/newspapers?id=3wUrAAAAIBAJ&sjid=GJgFAAAAIBAJ&pg=5943,4313273&dq=lynette+winter&hl=en) Interesting they had to "ugly" her up to make her believeable as a kooky best friend.

I wish we could find anything about Lynette. I couldn't find anything about her from the last 20 years.

I'm also curious about the actress who played Gidget's older sister, Betty Conner. Gidget was her last acting job according to IMDB.

I thought I read somewhere that she's now a schoolteacher down in Louisiana..and I think she also teaches drama classes as well....

Watching Gidget on TV when it first aired I had an instant crush on Larue! I never heard the name "Larue" before. But if you look closely at the character of Larue; she is quite the looker. Much of her body has been hidden by sweat shirts and baggy type pants. But there are some scenes where the director had to expose her figure; and you can see that she was well gifted in the front and had a very curvy figure. Nice legs too.
Too bad it was the only show she was in. I guess she was typecasted by Gidget and could not get more work other then play the same type of character.

That wasn't the only show she was in...I saw her on Petticoat Junction playing Selma Plout's homely daughter "Henrietta"...

Thanks for replying.
Was Lynette's role the same as Larue? Kind of a dizzy, phobic wallflower of a girl role?
GrtGzu 09-22-2013, 01:04 PM Yep...Selma's daughter "Henrietta" was a lot worse than "LaRue", especially when it came to "social skills"..In fact, Lynette was the first actress to play that character - didn't last long though...

Yep! Lynnette probably was typecast out of Hollywood. That why an actor has to star in other stuff that is different from what her character is to avoid being narrowed down in the same pigeon hole roles. Too bad for Lynette!

Well she's moved to Carmel and is directing (and she'll resume acting). (http://www.acaffreygirlproduction.com/?page_id=39)

I did then,too!
I never heard the name "Larue" before.
Neither had I.
Nurse Sully 01-17-2017, 10:33 PM I think Larue was a great character and a perfect choice to go with the bubbly Gidget. Lynette did a fabulous job.
installLSC 04-13-2017, 01:23 AM In case you live in Northern California, you can see Lynette on stage this month. (http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/2709987)
