I'm shocked that no one has mentioned Mary and Rhoda on The Mary Tyler Moore Show! Others I think deserve to be on this list:

Joe Hackett/Helen Chappel/Brian Hackett: Wings
Cory Matthews/Shawn Hunter/Topanga Lawrence-Matthews: Boy Meets World
Rose Nylund, Dorothy Zbornak, Blanche Deveraux, Sophia Petrillo: The Golden Girls
Joy Scroggs/Melanie Morettie/Victoria Chase/Elka Ostrosky: Hot in Cleveland

There are more, but those came to mind immediately!

I'm putting up Christine Campbell and her ex-hubbie Richard from "Old Adventures Of New Christine".I know they mainly stayed in contact because of the boy they had together, but they display real concern for one another on many levels and unlike MANY divorced couples, they very often seem to have alot of fun just hanging out and just "being friends".This shows ALOT of depth of charcter.

I'd pick Kelly Robinson and Alexander Scott on I Spy (1965-68) as the best portrayal of friendship on television ever - so many episodes of the show revolved around the close friendship and trust between the two.

Likewise, Jim West and Artemis Gordon, on The Wild Wild West was a good friendship.

The Kirk-McCoy-Spock friendship dynamic was good too.

Also

Hawkeye and BJ on MASH

Monica and Rachel on Friends

Buddy Sorrell and Sally Rogers was a good non-sexual male-female friendship.

Hi MacLeaper!Wow! Your list alone pretty much covered everything I can think of!How dare you!

lol- sorry.:)
I like a lot of TV shows...and I've actually tried to make such a list of friendships on TV and in literature, etc. in the past anyway- so that helps.
Of course, the best friendships are the real life ones- David and Jonathan is an historical one that is inspiring to me- like Proverbs 17:17. But of course, The Bible also tells us that Abraham was called a friend of God- and He's the best Friend anyone can have.:)

Nell and Chief (In Real Life...Nell Carter stood by Dolph Sweet by his deathbed and Nell Carter sang to Dolph).:(
Nell and Joey (Real Life...Nell Carter and Joey Lawrence were close friends until Nell Carter's death).
Nell and Addy (Though they had catfights, Nell would still keep a good relationship with Addy).
