MTV’s "Zach Stone Is Gonna Be Famous" Cancelled after One Season

It is one season and out for "Zach Stone Is Gonna Be Famous", MTV‘s half-hour series starring rising young comedian Bo Burnham, who tweeted about the show’s demise yesterday.
“We are huge fans of Bo Burnham and the entire creative and talented team behind Zach Stone Is Gonna Be Famous,” MTV said in a statement. “After careful consideration of many factors, we have ultimately decided not to move forward with an additional season of the series. We wish Bo, the cast and the entire production crew the very best.”
"Zach Stone", developed and greenlighted by the previous MTV regime, launched with little fanfare and modest ratings on May 2 in the 10:30 PM slot and was later shifted to 11 PM, dwindling to 300,000 viewers.
It is quietly ending its run this week with its final three originals, two airing on Saturday.
MTV has struggled to launch lasting scripted series beyond "Teen Wolf" and "Awkward", with a slew of high-profile entries, including "Skins", "I Just Want My Pants Back" and "The Inbetweeners" all getting cancelled after one season.
The future of "Awkward" also is in limbo as its creator/showrunner Lauren Iungerich is stepping down.
