That's the popular crime around here. Where hoods steal a truck and crash it thru a store window late at night and make off with the goods. You will never guess what they are stealing, money/liquor/cigarettes ? No, hair extensions from beauty shops, apparently those are worth a lot of money. You would think they would target grocery stores and swipe bacon. That stuff is expensive and even if they are unable to sell any of it they would still be guaranteed a nice breakfast everyday.

they do a lot of that around here too - also we have a very high rate of vehicles crashing into buildings, usually 1 or 2 per week.
just yesterday some punk shot a manager of a local theater as she was leaving with the cash drop, she's in critical condition.

Jeez, Roby!!
I live in good old backwards-ass ND. You know, oil boom country. And I *HATE* it. Random killings have been on a sharp spike here. The big story here right now is this 25yo deadbeat who killed a 18yo boy who had just moved up here from SD to look for work. It is thought that there was no motive behind it - completely random. Authorities just found a body yesterday that they are fairly sure is that of the 18yo kid, but an autopsy has not been completed.
In April, a long-time resident in his mid-50s up in oil patch country went missing. Evidence was found that there had been a violent confrontation on his ranch the day he went missing. Then about 3 weeks later they found his body. No motive there - it was also a random killing. Crazy when you consider that back in 2008, there were only 2 homicides in ND.
Suffice it to say I feel MUCH safer in New York City than over here! And I have been to NYC 4x in nearly two years, the most recent visit being last month. So I am speaking from recent experience.
