View Full Version : New Detail Emerge about The Complete Series DVD set release BettyWhiteFan 06-25-2013, 06:33 PM Official press release has been issued tlc38tlc38 06-25-2013, 06:52 PM I called Time Life on 6/25 and they told me big news about this remarkable set coming in a very short period of time. First thing is that the price is going to be close to $200 so start saving up because it will probably be worth it. Second is that it will be a 33 disc set according to a Time Life representative. Third and last is that there will be 2 bonus discs with undisclosed extras. Dare we hope for Eunice and some reunion specials. As news becomes available I will update unless Time Life does an official press release. Although it is not available online for pre-order you can reserve yours by calling them. I was the first to order mine according to Time Life. It's already been confirmed that the telefilm "Eunice" will be included, as well as a new reunion special. gidgetgrape 06-25-2013, 07:07 PM I can't wait to order this!!! McGillicuddy 06-25-2013, 10:26 PM I check every day for new details on the Complete Series set. I wish we could see the box art, since we've seen the box art for season 1! You're not the only one that checks every day! I can't wait for this! To me, this is the ultimate show to own on DVD! There are other shows I want but none as much as this one....and we're actually getting a ton of bonus features to boot! I'm glad StarVista is the one releasing this because they seem to actually care about the content quality of their sets. quincywagstaff 06-26-2013, 02:53 PM I called Time Life on 6/25 and they told me big news about this remarkable set coming in a very short period of time. I would have figured for 130 episodes, maybe 23 discs total, (3 for season 1 and 4 for each of the remaining five seasons). Subtracting out the 2 discs for extras, that means only 4 or 5 episodes per disc. If 33 is correct, I wonder if T-L has something else up it's sleeve besides the two dedicated bonus discs. tlc38tlc38 06-26-2013, 03:10 PM Official press release: http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=18620 tlc38tlc38 06-26-2013, 04:23 PM This thread needs to be deleted because there's another one just like it. http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/showthread.php?t=313019 lucy&vivfan 09-01-2013, 11:08 PM A 33 disc set seems an awfully big number of discs for a show that had a total of 130 episodes. There was this big publicity push to get people to pay $200 for that when it first came out. Now, the exact same DVDs are on sale individually at Wal-Mart for $15 a piece. I can see paying $200 for "The Carol Burnett Show" but not $300 for "Mama's Family". Eventually, the sales will come down for it, and they will definitely be selling "Mama's Family" at Wal-Mart in a year or so. |
