One of the links carried by Sitcoms Online is for a site called "Jump The Shark", which I'm sure many of my fellow sitcom fans are very familiar with. I have tried to go to that site for several days now, both directly, and through the links provided here. I keep getting the message "Unable to find web page". I'm wondering if the site has been knocked out by the destruction caused this week by the terrorist strikes. Does anyone have any information on this?

I've been trying to get to it too and have been unable to.

Hi Jimbo -
I'm not sure what's going on exactly...I have been able to get to the site as recently as Wed 9/12, but couldn't get in there today. Even when I did get in, the "home" page was basically blank. I had to go to the "A to Z" listings to look up shows. And tonight (9/13 10:10 pm EST) I just tried to access the site but stopped the transmission myself when it was taking forever to load. It's possible that the terrorist attack may have damaged communications lines and made service much slower (along with the fact that I'm sure that there's much more constant internet traffic since Tuesday's attack). Guess we'll just have to sit tight and wait for things to sort themselves out.

The owner of Jump The Shark lives in Woodbury, New York. The ISP is in New York also - http://www.thorn.net which also appears to be inaccessible.

Here's an update that was posted to the Jump The Shark mailing list:

Hi guys. This is Jon from Jump The Shark. Here's the deal with Jump The Shark:

The site is hosted by Thorn Communications who have offices right down the block from where the WTC stood. All power is down and no one can get to the offices at this time.

I had flown to Los Angeles last Sunday and was supposed to fly back on Tuesday. I just finished driving back here to New York today, so I've been out of the loop in more ways than one.

I am looking for a temporary server to host the site until Thorn can get up and running. I know JTS can provide some much needed humor these days, and believe me, I'd rather be focusing on bad TV instead of everything else going on here.

I will email the list with updates until I can get the site up and running again. My best wishes go out to you, your families and
friends during this horrible time.

Take care,

Jon
