The final sketch appeared on "Carol Burnett & Company". It shows Mama and Eunice visiting Carl's grave. The original air date was September 8, 1979. It's not available on DVD but I recently discovered it on YouTube. Just do a search for "Eunice rarely seen" and it should be the first video to pop up. It's well worth the view!
I SURE HOPE these season 11 sketches are available someday, I especially want to see the one where Eunice and Mickey try to get Mama into a retirement home b/c I remember that one from my childhood.
When I was little they aired ALL of these on TBS in 30min shows.
McGillicuddy 07-14-2013, 09:57 PM I've never seen them all listed together.
Its too bad Tim Conway never guest-starred on Mama's Family, as Mickey Hart!
Frump 07-15-2013, 02:48 PM I've never seen them all listed together.

I dunno why he didn't, he was the only one not to reprise his character.
quincywagstaff 07-15-2013, 06:38 PM Tim Conway never appeared on Mama's Family but Tim Conway Jr. did appear in a bit part in season 3.
McGillicuddy 09-11-2013, 10:21 PM I wonder if Mama's other sons, Phillip, Larry, and Jack will be shown on the family tree. They were played by Roddy McDowell, Alan Alda, and Tommy Smothers, on The Carol Burnett Show.

I highly doubt it because "The Family" sketches aren't considered official "Mama's Family" canon.
thenihilist79 02-19-2014, 07:10 PM thank you so much for this list, i have 21 sketches but never had a good list to go by to see what i was missing.

This sketch is available on YouTube (one version was uploaded out of synch then later someone uploaded one synched correctly)
For "The Family" sketch fans, with the available info from TVShowsOnDVD.com, as of now, there will be two "Family" sketches on this release, and we are getting a never-before-released sketch from season 11 (!). I am pasting the information after tlc38's info below:

tlc38tlc38 03-26-2014, 09:11 AM So glad a new "Family" sketch will be included!! I only wish more were there, especially the one with them playing Password and more season 11 sketches.
'80sSitcoms 03-26-2014, 09:24 AM the one with them playing Password
After a couple of people posting just clips of that on YouTube, the entire sketch for that one has finally been posted as well!

'80sSitcoms 03-26-2014, 10:21 AM Awesome! Thanks for the info, I'll have to check that out!! :) I've never seen it.
You're welcome; once the "Dan comes to dinner; Ed has left Eunice" sketch is released, that will leave only one "Family" sketch that I have never yet seen: "Mama drops in on Eunice announced" (the next one they did---one week after Ed had left Eunice).

I'll be in the same boat---save me a seat! :)
I've updated the sketch guide above to include the new additions.
I need to find volume 31 from Columbia House. It's the only volume I don't own with a "Family" sketch. I really want this!!
Frump 03-30-2014, 12:42 AM I REALLY want to get this set. I want to see the one where Dan's character is introduced. I wondering if it will contain a dialoug between Mama and Eunice I remember as a child.
I SO VIVIDLY remember this dialoug:
Mama: Eunice, for crying out loud!!
Eunice: I WILL CRY OUT LOUD MAMA!!!!!!!! AHHHHH!!! ~and she starts wailing~
I know in that sketch Eunice as a break down when she hears Ed left her so MAYBE this is the one that will contain that dialoug
Also I'm HOPING maybe the sketch I've been looking for for YEARS will be there, the one wear Carol is wearing a big curly teased blonde wig and it gets pulled off and she's wearing a short dark wig under it, I remember the setting was some sort of a business office like a BANK, and something about a robbery, and it seems like Carol is the robber when she pulls the wig off.
I'm wondering if the "Interrogator" sketch is it?
And 2 very important questions:
1.Will Carol's Crack Ups be the name of this new release, b/c I THOUGHT there was already something with that title.
2.Does this site accept Paypal and/or depit cards? Sorry I know prolly silly questions, but I don't order much from these sites and want it to all go right :)
Frump 03-30-2014, 12:49 AM sorry double post
McGillicuddy 03-30-2014, 02:32 AM Is Dan played by Dick Van Dyke?
I hope the sketch where they play Charades, and Tim Conway tells his "elephant story", is included. I've only seen the out-takes of that!

Yes, Dan is Dick Van Dyke.
Actually, the sketch with the elephant story is when the family plays Password, not charades. Charades is a totally different family sketch.
The Password sketch with the elephant story is in FULL on YouTube. I watched it for the 1st time a couple days ago!
Frump 03-31-2014, 07:33 PM I did get the Charade sketch and Password sketch mixed up once, based on what I remember from LONG ago, I though Mickey Hart also came over for dinner in the Password sketch and I thought AFTER dinner they started playing Password.
ALSO I THOUGH Ed was in the Password sketch, it's funny b/c I seem to remember both Ed and Dan being in it, it seemed like I remember Ed sitting in the chair by the couch next to Mickey, dunno why I remembered it like that lol
ANYWAY, when you watch the new sketch of Dan coming to diner just remember the phrase, "I feel like a glorified zoo keeper!"
Inside info lol
tlc38tlc38 04-26-2014, 09:28 AM It looks like the season 11 "Family" sketch with Dick Van Dyke WON'T be on the new 6-disc Carol's Crack-Ups. I'm not sure how this information got turned around but it seems like it somehow did.

Bummer.
Frump 04-27-2014, 10:49 PM Bummer.
This is true sadly :( Instead it is the Company Man sketch, which isn't a total loss, I've been wanting that one too.
But I dunno WHY they don't just release ALL of the Family Sketches, I mean OMG Don't they know those are what the majority of the fans want to see and they would make HUGE sells.
I dunno why they are so secretive about them.
garretta 09-18-2014, 05:48 PM Season 8 Episode 19 is available as part of a seven-disc version of "This Time Together" that I just purchased through Amazon.com. It's available both factory-new and used. Season 9 Episode 24 is on a one-disc alternate version of "This Time Together" that wasn't sold as part of the Ultimate Collection. It has a blue background and says "Alternate Episodes" on the package, and it's also available through Amazon.
garretta 10-24-2014, 03:23 PM According to the Ultimate Collection, the "Sorry!" sketch was done November 9, 1974, not November 16. TV.com lists the date as November 16, though. It's kind of interesting because you'd think they wouldn't have done a "Family" sketch the week that Vicki was getting married. (Her wedding to Al was the sixteenth.) I know that the show was taped, of course, but with all the preparations she had to have been going through, she must have been really dedicated to do a sketch where she was so heavily featured so close to her wedding.
This brings up another question: Did the Burnett shows air the same week that they taped, or was there a lag time? In other words, did the shows they taped on Friday air the very next night (Saturdays at 10/9 Central in 1974) or did they tape far in advance like the sitcoms did, which seems a lot more logical?

Well, that was her "job" though, so just like any other working bride she had duties to fulfill, lol.

I would think there would have to be lag time, because of the editing together between the two taped versions of each weekly show.
garretta 10-24-2014, 04:29 PM Oh, I know Vicki would have had to work. All I was getting at was that in a format like this where the producers made the call each week on whether to do a certain sketch or not, they could have skipped "The Family" on a week where its second-biggest star (since Harvey's character of Ed was basically there for Eunice and Mama to torture) was getting married. Of course, if there was a lag time, they wouldn't have necessarily had to worry about that anyway.
tlc38tlc38 05-07-2017, 09:12 PM 3 never-before-on-DVD "Family" sketches have made it to DVD in the new 50th Anniversary 60-episode set from Time Life.
Here are the 3 new sketches:
The season 9 sketch with Jim Nabors where Eunice wants to leave Ed because she caught him going to a massage parlor. (9/13/75)
The season 11 sketch where Eunice and Mickey try to get Mama to move to a retirement home. (12/11/77)
The finale. (3/29/78)
tlc38tlc38 05-09-2017, 11:01 AM To date, there are only 6 sketches (including the one from Carol & Company) that haven't been released on DVD.
I wish the January 25, 1975 episode with William Conrad would make it to one of the Time Life sets because it's only available on volume 31 of the Columbia House set and that is near impossible to find.
It still amazes me that the episode with the "Password" sketch hasn't been released. That is probably one of the most popular "Family" sketches, ever.
Just six sketches haven't been released on DVD? They may as well just collect them all and release them in one package. :)
The Password sketch is the one that aired on Password Plus, rather than on Carol Burnett's show, yes?

No. The "Password" family sketch (featuring Tim Conway & Dick Van Dyke) is different from the episodes of game show "Password Plus" that just featured Mama and Eunice.

And what a treat that is to see on YouTube!
Rob-TV 05-12-2020, 02:03 PM Hi All!
Great news! All full eleven seasons of the Carol Burnett Show are coming to ShoutFactoryTV. It will kick-off with a marathon on Saturday, May 30 and on Sunday, May 31. I'm not sure what time the marathon starts on Saturday or what time it ends on Sunday. Fortunately, the very next day, June 1, the whole series will be available on ShoutFactoryTV's on demand free streaming service to watch anytime. So, with that happening, we will get the rest of the Family sketches, along with the ones that were previously released on home video. Isn't that wonderful?
'80sSitcoms 05-14-2020, 10:43 AM ^---Wow, if that's true, that is awesome!!
And luckily, there's only 1 "Family" sketch which has still not been available: "Overnight Guest - Mama drops in on a newly divorced Eunice unannounced."

Christopher 05-19-2020, 05:55 AM Amazon Prime has The Carol Burnett show but they're edited episodes. I went through their season 11 episodes and none of them have The Family sketches. I hope Shout Factory TV doesn't do this. I'm not familiar with their streaming service so hopefully it's like the DVD releases they do.
Rob-TV 05-24-2020, 09:16 PM Hi all.
Unfortunately, most of the episodes that are coming to ShoutFactoryTV will be cut down to 22 minutes. You see, when I wrote to ShoutFactoryTV to ask them about the marathon, I also asked them if the episodes would be uncut, and they wrote back and said that they, (alas) would be cut down to 22 minutes. Isn't that rediculus? I think it is.
TheLittleFaerie 06-13-2020, 01:30 AM The only Family Sketch I've yet to see is the Divorce Sketch where Mama catches Dan ~Van Dyke ~ and Eunice living together. I hope this becomes available at some point.

I read on another message board that Folk TV actually aired this holy grail sketch last week!
