Would any of you recommend that I see the "lost episodes"? I've never seen any of them but would like your input on whether there are any decent episodes and genuine laughs.

Personally, I think for every Classic 39 episode, there is an equally great "Lost Episode." Fans that grew up watching the Classic 39 might not find the earlier, shorter sketches all that great, particularly the ones with Pert Kelton, but as the sketches got longer, they got better and better. Keep in mind that it was the popularity of those longer shows during the second and third seasons of The Jackie Gleason Show that lead to the Classic 39. I'd recommend starting with the middle discs, as the first and last few appeal more to die-hard fans and collectors.

the lost episodes were far superior to the 39. they were a little rougher than the 39 and fit the honeymooners mood perfectly. i have them all plus others not released yet, thankfully. ralph's sweet tooth is my favorite especially when he bit into the candy.
