When I still lived with my parents, I did this all the time because I had a TV and computer in my bedroom. However, now that I've moved out, my computer is in my bedroom and my TV in my living room, so for a while I couldn't do both. Now I have a smartphone and can get online on my phone while watching TV.

I have the tv on when I'm on the internet but I can't do both at the same time because the computer and tv are in different rooms.

I have a TV Tuner Card in my PC. I am always at least listening to TV while on the net.

Did something change since 2003? Remember you used to watch the football games and post on sitcomsonline when we watched Monday Night Football? lol

I had that setup for about 2 years. It was a second tv and a small one. But it broke. I still end up on the internet when the Cowboys are playing because there is only so much I can take. lol

My TV is always on when I'm online. Wouldn't feel right if it were off. It's usually on Sportscenter.

With me it's either the tv or the computer.
Can't fart and chew gum at the same time.

OH Nuts!

I'n never on the Internet when I'm watching TV

(Only possible exception would be watching a TV show courtesy of You Tube on my iPad - but in that instance I am watching the show and NOT going back and forth to another website, email, etc.)

This is weird, but when I try to look at TV and my laptop at the same time I often get nauseous or a headache.

The TV's always on at my house too!!
There are certain shows where I can multi-task (mostly shows I've watched over and over again) and there are certain shows where all my attention has to be on the TV and nothing else!!

I do enjoy the "social watching" as you mentioned. It makes watching TV a collective experience. But again, that's only with certain shows!!

I find it difficult to watch tv and be on the internet at the same time. Some people can multi task well, I"m not one of them.

I do the same thing, trust me. Sometimes I'll even put dinner off a few hours cause I'm having too much fun online. lol

I used to thoroughly enjoy logging on to sportsline.com and chat about a live football game while watching on TV. It was particularly helpful, if your local station didn't carry that game. Some folks got really good at doing play by play. It was great fun. I have no idea why they cancelled it.

PS Brad, I love your avatar!

The tv and computer are next to each other. When I watch tv, I'm not online. When I'm online, I may passively listen to what he's got going on. If I'm home alone, it's one or the other.
