I don't think any of them would be OFF since it was a tv show. How could viewers watch a episode and it's stated that Alice is OFF that day?:crazy:

There were times that Alice would mention that she had to be at Mel's for opening (about 7 am) and then Flo would say "Well, I don't have to be in 'till noon.) And there were times that Vera would come into work after Flo and Alice were already working.

From what I understand the diner is closed on saturday and sunday, so they woudl get week-ends off.

And I'm thinking WHAT restaurant closes on the weekends, those are the busiest eat-out days of all.

They had Sun. off when the diner wasn't open.

Typically Sat and Sun are 2 of the biggest eat out days of the week, I cannot understand Mel closing those 2 days, esp money being so important to him.

Let's face it, they could be off when the show was not airing :lol: :lol:

I think they had a little time off at night, half and day on Sat and all day Sun.
