On the 11th of this month, I posted a message called "The Purse Thing". This was the first time in a long time that I managed to think of a topic for a thread that someone thought worthy of a reply! Very shortly after this response, I responded to this response. Believe it or not, it managed to generate another response by the same person! I then responded back. However, like anything else, things tapered off. However, two other threads on this page later generated responses and were thus brought to the top. Because I could not think of anything to add to the conversation of either of those threads, I went over to the "Mad About You" page and told my buddies there about what had been happening here. I called that thread "Hazel's Purse". I gave it that title because Hazel Shermet played the part of the character that inspired my initial post on this page. After failing to get any replies there, I went over to "Caroline in the City". I told all of my buddies there how quiet things have been on these two pages. I called that thread, "Hazel's Other Purse". When that did not stimulate any conversation, I came back here. That is where we come to my thread, "A Tale of Three Purses". After that, I left circulation for a while and did other things. Earlier this morning, I went back to "Mad About You" and started a thread called "Purse Number Four". The last time I checked, it had seven views and zero replies. So here I am posting my fifth thread on this topic! I would like to commemorate my fifth attempt by mentioning something from "Sesame Street" from the seventies. I remember an animated skit pertaining to the number five. One of the scenes featured a little boy sitting in front of his own birthday cake. The narrator said "five candles show how old you are". Oh the memories!
