2002...at that time, Pamela Hayden left the show, it was 4 years since the Phil Hartman characters were retired, and the episode "Blame it on Lisa" was the last for me since it was a near replica of "Bart vs. Australia" except Lisa did it for a good cause and both Brazil and Australia have their drain water go in reverse. (I also didn't like how Riotour were up in arms with that episode, because 60 years before that, Disney had his crew go there and make a character that would be Brazil's staple character)...

I should've ended after 10 years or at least when Phil Hartman died since he voiced the incidental characters and Troy McClure, the lawyer sheister guy and many others.

I still see the show but now it's very often that now with 400 episodes in the can it's hard to pick what season I'm watching.

I stopped watching cold when Madge Flanders died. I guess that would be season 11.

I really dont know. There were a couple of good ones from 2007 that were good. Also, the episode where Homer and Ricky Gervais swapped wives, I thought was very good. I think Gervais wrote that episode. I think it aired in 2006.

What year should The Simpsons have been cancelled? Well, let's see, it should have ended around 1999, if they had been responsible. Really can't be responsible with these type of shows.

The truth is, about 20 long-running scripted live-action series on the FOX Network have came and gone during its tenure (and hundreds more scripted series on other networks), and some young people had both been born and passed away during its tenure.

If FOX ordered a 26th season for The Simpsons, I think they would use it to wrap up its original run for good. The Simpsons's departure as a first run series would open up the opportunity to create and build brand-new animated series on its network. Also, there are certainly a lot more than enough original episodes to keep the show running in syndication for a long time. A station can play it twice a day for 9 to 12 months, or four times a day for 4 to 6 months, without repeating.

FOX needs to announce "final season" or "farewell season" for The Simpsons soon.

It should have ended after the 9th or 10th season. I can watch the earlier episodes over and over again, but I can't say the same for a lot of episodes from more recent seasons.

Obviously people will be saddened when The Simpsons ends, but how bad will people miss the show?

I think with the way people seem to outright hate the last, I don't know, 10 or so seasons of The Simpsons, I think it'll be a case of "don't know what you've got until it's gone". I'm not a huge Simpsons fan myself, but I think that when shows like The Simpsons or Family Guy, whose later seasons aren't necessarily as great as their earlier seasons, end, people will realize how much they perhaps took later seasons for granted when production seizes altogether.

I'll be dancing once "The Simpsons" ends...
