This is definitely a strange case. Given the timing of the break-up with his girlfriend and the fact that he made it known to her that he still loved her, it does seem to lend credence to the theory that he willingly fled to avoid prosecution. However, who is Jose and why did he go missing with Freddy?

Freddy's girlfriend at the time, Robin, had a Myspace page for Freddy, but it's set to private so I can't view any of the info she has on there.

I'm not sure whether the comment on this blog is true, but it really doesn't seem too far-fetched to me. I think it's obvious that Freddy was involved in illegal activities when he vanished.

Thanks. Is it just me, or do those age-progression composites of Freddy not look a thing like him? They look like they were drawn very hastily.

I agree.

I appreciate artists taking the time to do this job, which is very important in helping to ID folks. But with these drawings, it looks like the person used the photographs as guide and chose one standout feature from each photograph that actually least resembles the missing person. The ears from pic#2, the nose from pic#3, etc. The shape of these features don't seem to match with all the other photos of Mr. Murguia and, at least in the first drawing, the face and head shape don't seem to match any of his photos.

I also think he looks too caucasian in the drawings.

It reminds me a bit of the situation with the sketch of the Weleetka suspect who murdered Taylor Paschel and Skyla Whitaker. It looked like an elderly native man but the killer turned out to be a young, round faced, white man in his 20s.

Sometimes they get it really wrong, for whatever reason.
